***Please pass the MOJO-2008***
Hey Brian! I happened to bump into a guy this evening at the gas station. He said he would be happy to give the braclet a little mojo too! He also wanted to thank our troops for their service. Sorry I broke the rules. I know he's not rubbing it on a fish but hands sure did smell like fish!

Setting the hook
Well first off, what setup are you using, rod, line, and hook? What size senko? Alot of missed fish are probally dinks. That's usually the case for me. I can tell the bite apart most of the time. Dinks feel like they're hitting the lure constantly. They're trying to fit the lure in their mouth. Bigger fish usually are able to inhale even larger plastics with one gulp. Usually the line just jumps or you feel a bump and then them trying to crush the lure or even swallow. As for bigger fish throwing the lure, you need a strong hookset to drive the hook. Your chances of landing the fish will increase by keeping the line taught at all times and keeping the rod tipp down.

Elite series on Kentucky!
I was out today for a few hours. They're pulling a little bit more water than predicted and I think this one is going to be a slugfest. Maybe not a Texas size slugfest but I'm gonna say somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 lbs. to win! I talked to a tackle/gas station owner today. Some of the guys coming in there are a little disappointed and some of them are being quite. KVD's lips have been sealed! Big worm's gonna win it though! Atleast I would think. CJ

***Please pass the MOJO-2008***
Well I finally got to get out on the water and try to get some more mojo doped on this braclet. Seems it is already loaded. I had two nice fish today but I had to give one of them a quick release due to some curious spectators. Anyway I happen to get lucky twice today and find another canidate for the task. Wonder who will be next! Thanks Brian for your service! Your braclet is glowing with mojo already! Chris Jones

Scientific approach to bass fishing
Shucks I was hoping to hear some more takes on this. The key to the whole thread really isn't biology but the "mindset" that some angler's acquire due to over complicating the task at hand. I think a lot of the posters here are just giving their thought on the subject and not pointing fingers at those who pursue the scientific approach. I'm enjoying reading these takes on the subject.

Tubo Rig???
Hey man! It's been awhile. This is the first time I've seen you on here since you got back, I guess I could have missed you though. Glad your back! Yep, that rig supposedly won a major event a couple years ago though I don't remember which one just that it got the credit. It's a bed fishing set up. I haven't used it and probally won't because Ky. Lake isn't good for sight fishing. CJ

Elite series on Kentucky!
Plum is the color I have been throwing but I have recently switched over to red shad. The fish are getting a little deeper and I like a darker hue. But yes they will nail a big plum worm. The bigger, the better! The problem or I don't know if it will be a "problem" but, the TVA has quit running as much water. The outflow is going to be dropping tomorrow down to 18,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) and that will make the bass either drop down a little beside the ledge or they will suspend out off the ledge. Actually they will do both but the ledge huggers are the more catchable fish. Plus it puts the fish in less of a feeding mood. Yet 2 weeks ago it took over 100 lbs. to win a 4 day event. It was won on a 4" pre-rigged swimbait. They weren't pulling much water.

Elite series on Kentucky!
Awesome!!! Can you post the pics? Well second thought you don't need to give away any locations.

WOW!! A beautiful fish!
Awesome. Your pics and story took me there. The feeling of being with somebody when there moment arrives is awesome. I got to experience a young man catch his first lunker on a ledge just a couple days ago. It overwhelmed him and it is a story I won't forget. Anyway, GREAT JOB and NICE POST! I LOVE IT! Chris

big fish like a little fish??
What Brian and Fishfor$ is talking about is true and I think I've discovered a pattern to it. Falcon is a river resevoir which involves current. Fish that live in current put up alot better fight than those who don't. JMO I think some fish just have more attitude also. I've caught 3 lbers that put up an awesome fight. I haven't had the chance to boat a 5+ smallie yet but my PB(4 lb. 13 oz.) came in like a log. I've caught a handful of 3-4 lb. class that wanted to pull the rod out of my hands.

I admire KVD for his fishing ability. I don't think these fish are going to play to his fast power fishing ways though. That ain't saying he won't fish outside his strengths (if there is an outside to his strengths). Watch out for the guys who might pick up a swimbait.

I agree with 4bizz and the guys who mentioned ice. I have used as much as 6 blocks in one day. I'm interested with your follow up Raul. You do bring good points. And nice way of putting it!

Elite series on Kentucky!
It's gonna be whoever get's on the right spot. Hope they stay off mine, I gotta BFL this Saturday, LOL. Anyway, I'm interested in seeing if any of them can feed the big girls a crankbait or a big spinnerbait. BTW, one of our own, Rob Kennedy(Shadcranker), will be in the back of the boat! Good Luck Rob! Junior Bassmaster Tournament (mark twain lake)
Okay maybe I responded to quickly and didn't come across with the right words. If the fish is a 1/4 in. short, most likely it won't touch. Fish do tense up after being caught and it usually takes a few seconds for it to flatten out. You can feel it do so while on the board. And they will shrink when ice is added but I've never noticed one do so unless I add ice. Just calling the kid a "poacher" is a little harsh when there was supposed to be some sort of supervision. If you think the fish was short than it's his captian and TD who should be taking the flaming.

Elite series on Kentucky!
Well the wrapped boats have filled up the parking lots around the dam. This could be anybodies tournament but they all better look out for Steve Kennedy. It's no mystery how this one will be won. Anybody got their picks? Here's mine: Steve Kennedy big worm or jig 16-20 ft. deep

Junior Bassmaster Tournament (mark twain lake)
Wow! I guess some guys get off flaming you youngins'. They must of donated alot of money and got to take it out somewhere. : BassXL, what you did was the right call. If a fish is close you keep it. Especially in a tough tournament. The bottom line is that the fish touched when the TD measured it on matter how long it took him to do it. Sometimes a fish needs to relax to squeek by and that can take time. Why do you think most tournaments have a courtesy board? CONGRATS!!! I'm proud of you! CJ

where do the big ones lurk
I would agree that they would seek an area with the highest oxygen levels or the cooler water. It's possible that they haven't gone anywhere, it's just very tough to get them to bite.

I have a very odd question
I know what I would do.
