Any Horse Lovers
I would be a "has been" in this deptartment. Those are some nice pics Catt. Looks like the gal does a good job with her horse. I never did the hunter jumper thing though I did sell one of my colts for that purpose. He could jump the moon and never bocked at anything. I've broke alot of colts in both quarter horses and saddle horses. I miss it but my body don't.

same bass twice? 2 hours apart
I've caught the same bass twice in 20 minutes. Then went back and caught him again the next day. It was just a little spotted bass in a small river.

at what age can you start teaching a boy to fish?
I caught my first one at four. My boy caught his first at three! Only advice is to make sure they're having fun whether they are catching fish or not. I let mine bring along his Gameboy in case he gets bored (I don't think he has ever played it on the boat though). I'm always trying to entertain him by acting goofy or cutting up and ofcourse I always make him feel big by asking him if this lure will work or if this spot is a good one. And I try to never get on to him or get frustrated cause he just messed his rig up or is jumping around to much. The main thing is that when Gavin goes fishing with me, it's our day, not just mine.

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
WOW! The NL Central is starting out well. I hoping my Birds can keep up the winning record. We've really just had a stroke of good luck! Mulder's rehab is going great! Not to worried about the Cubbies. Only a matter of time before the curse kicks in! Atleast it's a "fan" curse and not a "player" curse. ;D

Jones Roofing Co. is born!
Thanks Guys! The one thing my company is going to be built on is quality workmanship. I have seen to many crap jobs done on roofs in the past. I'm gonna put "quality" back into workmanship. I will settle for no less than to be considered the best! After all roofing isn't rocket science but every trade needs dedicated workmanship that covers all the details! Thanks again, CJ

Jones Roofing Co. is born!
I have finally spread my wings! So far I'm flying! I had been considering going into business for myself for awhile now. Well a few weeks ago I decided to go for it. I got the break I was needing. I sold my old bass boat which gave me the flow I needed. I had all winter to decide and I knew I wanted find a way to invest the blessing. I had been roofing for other companies for over 14 years and had been running crews for almost 10 years. I got tired of making money for the other guy and now have decided to make some for myself. I've already got a 5-man crew, counting myself. After the first week, I am already booked for the next 3 weeks! I have a handful of other estimates out and 4 more to figure today. So if you don't see me around as much it's just because I buried up in my work. I'm sure it will settled down sometime but starting out a business takes alot of time and dedication. Alot of people think it's great to be your own boss but I'm a tough one for me to work for! :-/ Wish me luck, CJ

X2, except my lake isn't "very" clear.

positioning on sunny days
It's really nothing I ever take into account. I'm gonna fish whatever I am looking for regardless where my shadows are falling. I don't sight fish either. I guess if I had a choice the sun would be to my back so it wasn't in my eyes.

Cats and Bass
I think this has alot to do with it. I've noticed this too. I got a little peice of fake fur tied on to the end of a stick with fishing line. Our cat has finally grown out of it. Now you got to catch her in the right mood.

Interesting theory
I keep an eye on the birds but I don't count on them. If I'm thinking right, herons fish by wading or with the asistance of a laydown or some structural that allows them to keep their body above water. In the summer months they are useless to me. I also only pay attention to where the birds are in relation to the whole lake. For example: the gulls may be around the shallows or around the main lake. I also pay attention to their behavior. Sometimes they are only sitting, sometimes they're diving. Regardless they are usually hanging out near some bait. Quality bass are always hanging out near some cover, structure, or both, in relation to the baitfish depth, when they are ready to feed.

Who plans on "video-ing" this year?
I'm gonna try. This thread came at the right time for me! The wife and I have been looking at cameras for the last week. We need one that takes good stills and good vids. I'll shoot you a PM when I'm ready Russ. Right now I'm buried in a pile of work. :-[ CJ

Megastrike Fish Attractant...TWO THUMBS UP!!!
I started using it on my plastics just last weekend. I used to think scents didn't make a difference...I think I was wrong. My first day out last weekend the fish was spitting out my t-rig lures as fast as they grabbed em'. I started rubbing some on my lures and results changed. I wasn't sold on it right away. I thought the fish's feeding mood may have turned on especially since a few of the fish nearly jerked the rod out of my hand! Then as I was standing in line at my weigh in Saturday, I overheard a few guys talking about how the fish would bite it and spit it right back out! I didn't have that problem! CJ

Picasso Spinnerbaits?
Senko77 gave me a few at the G-Ville roadtrip. It is the spinnerbait we caught most of our fish on. I don't know which one it was though. Maybe he will shed some light on your questions. CJ
