  1. Yeah it would cost me $50 in gas to get to one. I guess I'll have to pass. :-[
  2. Big O, you really put the icing on the cake! That is just too cool! Great job! CJ
  3. I always fish a jig with a trailer. You say you fish plastics so you should have something to use for a trailer. Any craw or the tail end of a creature will work. Jigs fish basically just like most t-rig presentations. Try throwing it near cover and just work it real slow on the bottom. You'll get bit!
  4. And so, the passion begins! Great job Uncle Red! He looks like a fine young man. Those are some fine lookin' fish too! CJ
  5. I use baitcasting equipment 95% of the time. I have never had trouble with it on my Revo and I like a med power fast tip. I with Sam and others who posted about the light line. 8-10 lb. test is the ticket. Heavier line hinders the natural action (given we're talkin' bout finesse worms). The key is to get action out of the lure with a subtle presentation.
  6. Yep Frogtog, you got the shaft. That TD is wrong and doing a bad job. That is an illegal catch and the fish should have never gone in the angler's boat. So... you won! CJ
  7. He probally is helping the lake by keeping smaller fish. Now, if he catches a 5-7 lber and wants to keep that one, tell him you'll put it in the well for him. Mr. Bob Lusk could shed some good light on this one. Raul made some great points though. Bass need alot of forage to become big. Little bass take that needed forage away from the bigguns'.
  8. Welcome to Bass Resource and thank you! I love my 225 Optimax! CJ
  9. 1. 5 lbs. even 2. 7 lbs. even 3. 3 lbs. 5 oz. 4. 5 lbs. 9 oz. I took the difference of each guess/fish and added up the total score from the 4 fish. The lowest score won. gary77, was the closest, on the average, to each fish's weight. Nice "feeble" attempt gary! PM sent. CJ
  10. Interesting facts frogtog. Diarrhea was a leading cause of death? Well I guess people could have died from having heat strokes in the out house? :-?
  11. How cool! Other than the rod incident it's really neat to see some oversea tournament stories! Thanks for sharing! CJ
  12. I'll give em' tonight at 8:00 pm central time. I'll give ya'll a hint, everybody has missed atleast one fish by more than a pound. Some have missed a fish by as much as 3 lbs.
  13. It's even more entertaining when you know the answers!
  14. Wasn't it you that use them for sharkbait? :
  15. Man Mike! You learned the hard way, just like me. I drove one through my thumb and it came out under my thumbnail. I did my own operating cause I wasn't done fishing that day. Anyway, hope it don't get as soar as mine did. Take care of it and use needlenose when you're fishing anything with trebles. Dang....I know that hurt! Chris
  16. CJ replied to Mattlures's topic in Fishing Reports
    Nice fish Matt!
  17. OMG, it's in the air east and west. I had a similar story tonight Jay. Teria and I come home and as I walk by my boat I here a faint meow. I turn the lights on and find that one of the kittens had got into my boat. I had left all the compartments open for the lids to drain (got caught in the rain yesterday). I find her in the rod box and in a bad situation. She got into a Bandit 700. Three for three of the front hooks in her mouth and jaw and one of the rear hooks in her hind leg. Poor thing. I cut the lines and get her out. Take her in the house. Thank god she had pulled all of the barbs on through! I took some cutters and after some struggle finally de-hooked the kitty. She's pretty soar but she should be alright....I think.
  18. Not tonight. I'm still waiting for someone to get close to atleast 3 of them. : Heck, I guess I'm gonna have to give something to whoever can get the closest! How bout three brand new jigs or a brand new Rapala! CJ
  19. Paul Roberts, why don't you give it a try? Your right about one thing.
  20. Awesome Chris! Nice choice too! Can't wait to see some pics of the truck......and some monster bass too! Have fun with it. I remember the feeling I got with my new truck but, it's vague. CJ
  21. Ryan, we're broke down too. You had to noticed who is missing in the Cards lineup. Hookem, The AL is gonna lose this year!
  22. I riggem' up. To add, It's best to simply put the trailer hook on then just put your keeper on above it, not over the eye as some come pre-rigged. The trailer needs to swing freely to take the leverage point away from the bass.
  23. Nice post! Great job too! It's amazing how great the members here are. Five years ago, I only had a few fishing buddies, now I've got a bunch of em'! CJ
  24. Eddie, you can't offend me. Please give it a shot. It'll be fun. Hawgcaller, your too kind! I told Teria the same thing. The problem that day was she left her shades at the house (rookie mistake), the sun was frying her eyes. We gave her a spare hat to help out. Okay, I'll help ya'll out a little bit. I am 5' 11" and weigh 150lbs. soakin' wet.
