  1. Yeah muddy,I wasn't around to see Gibson.I've read and watched enough about baseball history to know how good he was. The Phils and the Yankee fans have their attitudes toward their own players. To me it's disrespect for the game.To hear the Yankees boo A-Rod for a bad night is just sickening.Think he will re-up with NYY next year?I highly doubt it.I live in Cardinal country here in west Ky.I have also lived in St.Louis briefly. There is no better baseball town in America,IMO.The fans of St.Louis will even applaud a great play made by an opposing defender. To me,it is total respect for the game. The only player I have seen them BOO steadily is Barry Bonds and I've joined in myself a few times.
  2. Funny you brought that up Muddy. The same year McClain was paid to throw the series. The only problem was the Tigers had 2 other starters who were lights out against the Cards and the Tigers go on to win the series. It was a time that pitching dominated the sport. The longball is what catches the eye anymore with the fans and the writers....I guess. That and RBI's.When you try to define "most valuable player"what do you look for.HR and RBI's usually what it takes.I think the writers are selling the award short. How about productive outs?Or not so productive outs?Wright and Feilder have struck out over 100 times a peice this year.Nothing productive about striking out.Fielder definantly has the MVP stats .613 slg. percentage says alot and the fact he does carry the Brew crew somewhat, don't forget about Braun. Then there is another great defensive shortstop that has joined the 30/30 club this year.Jimmy Rollins has struck out 84 times and a batting average just under .300.He doesn't have the RBI totals as Fielder or Wright, but he is still my pick for MVP.Fielder will get it though.Just like you said Muddy,he put fannies in the seat.
  3. Yeah Burley and the Brewers are slaughtering the Cards again tonight.Feilder just hit his 50th HR.I think he is making a big run for MVP!

Nice work Big M!I was just painting a few traps myself. They can actually be tougher to paint than one might think. It's gettin' time of year for them.Keep up the good work! CJ
  5. I agree with all of the above.

Been using them now for 2 years and I can't say enough about them.Try em',you will like them!
  7. Guess what.....it works! I have been using Pro Slider heads for a few years, thanks to a local pro. This year I switched to a Spot Remover head with the same results.Helps fish those really hangy spots.
  8. Good to here from you Chris! That's one nice striper. That's alot of fish to fit into a pic! The other picture.....I wanna go there! CJ
  9. CJ replied to Bud's topic in Fishing Reports
Sounds like you're on em' Bud! I hope Brad hurries up and gets my parts in :-[.I didn't know lack of fishing had DF(de-fishunization).I've been coming down pretty hard. Good Job!Have to get togather soon.I'll need somebody to show me how it's done! Chris
  10. How about this: http://bassresource.com/fishing_lures/bass_fishing.html By the way a mud point is a point with mud as a bottom contour.
  11. Yeah the cubs do muddy.I wish the Cards could loan the Mets a couple releivers.Oh well...you never know what's gonna happen.Like the comercial says'"You can't script Oct."!Even though the Cards are out of it,I will enjoy watching their last few games and pull for them.I still gonna pull for the NL at the WS no matter who it is.
  12. The Cards gave their fans one last win to close out the home season. What a way to end it.I thought Albert got Lidge again but now Lidge knows theres more than Albert to worry about! It was a great game seeing Oswalt do his thing and Biggio play his last game at Busch.Hope to see Albert get that 1 more RBI to keep his streak alive....Oh well,a tough luck season for the Redbirds.Gonna have to pull for the National League's best, whoever that will be. On another note: I was thinking about who are the worst attitudes in the game today.I see the class acts like Biggio and some not so classy like my top 5 hotheaded, disrespectful, bad attitudes in MLB today: 1.Ozzie Guillen-this guy is a time bomb just ready to go off.I can't believe Chicago signed a 3 year ext. 2.Milton Bradley-don't take much for him to lose it either. 3.Carlos Zambrano-I am suprised some of the Cubs haven't dehydrated as many water coolers he has destroyed this year.If he walks a guy that water cooler is gettin' it. 4.Lou Pinella-another manager who can't keep it togather under pressure. 5.Barry Bonds-the guy may be the HR king with an * by his name but he is stiil hotheaded as any! Honorably mention: Pedro Martinez-though he has grown up a little the picture of him slamming old man Stupper to the ground still earns him a spot in my list.
  13. If you will go to larger double willows the spinner bait will run higher in the water column. A spinnerbait is a lure I really like to tweek for better results.First off I like a rubber, not silicone, skirt.I'm not knocking a silicone skirt they work too but rubber has more fluttering action.A single tail grub to serve as a trailer, enhances the fluttering action. It causes the skirt to pulsate.Rubber skirts will wear out faster than silicone.JMO CJ
  14. Yeah, you think the complaning is bad now......marry her! Just playin',nice fish and good job helping someone else see what the fun is all about!
  15. CJ replied to Deb's topic in Fishing Reports
Nice fish Deb!500 fish a year is a bunch for anybody!
  16. I use a grub trailer all the time.
  17. Smithwick Rattlin' Pro Suspending Rogue is my favorite.I do tune these with a section of a suspend strip.
  18. Sounds like you whacked em'! All of the ponds around here look similiar to what you described.Low,with muddy water.Fish haven't been very active but it sounds like you figured em' out. Way to go!
  19. Use a lighter weighted spinner.For example a double willow,3 1/2 up front,4 1/2 on back with a quarter ounce spinner.
  20. Thanks for the results.I don't order the PPVs.Fridays fights that were on Spike were good.Lehman's fight was a shocker! I wish Chuck would have won and I was glad to hear that Forrest won.
  21. Sounds like ya'll had a good time. Dink, did you get all those guys to come over there just so you could pick on them? ;D I think you did. I'll be tied down to Ky.Lake for the next several weeks, gotta big one comin' up.I ain't coming up there for Dink to hand me my butt! We'll try to put something togather on Ky.Lake this fall if ya'll will be up to it.I'll put Dink in my boat so he won't have any chance of winning! Chris

T-Rig will work just fine and I wouldn't drag them slow on the bottom, you might get your shoulders jerked out of socket! There are alot of good plastic craws made but I would subgest a Netbait Paca Craw Jr. BTW,welcome to BR.
  23. KU,I hope to be able to write that up next Spring.Me and my dad are heading there then. I caught my PB in the first bass tournament I ever fished. It was a BFL,I was a co-angler and it was awesome!I drew up with a guy from outta town, had a speech impetament, and was drunk at the pre-tournament meeting.I couldn't understand him well when he ask,"you know where any fish are"?When I finally figured out what he was saying,I said,"No,not really but I gotta hunch about a spot or two".Well we headed out after I got over the "awe" of the takeoff. The day started out slow but once the sun got up on a cool March morning,I felt like I hung my crankbait until the snag gave me a good tug.I thought it was a drum until my line started elevating toward the surface and I got a glimps of her lateral markings! My hungover boater jabbed her a couple times with the net before I finally calmed him down and pulled the fish into the net.She weighed 7 lb. even.I have caught one other fish that would probally top her but the battery in my scales needed changed,so I got no proof.I caught her on a Shad Rap #7 in crawdad off of a chunk rock bank that was close to the main river channel.
  24. Lots of good input. +1 jig +1 slow +1 location Great info WRB!
