  1. Well heres another one I got of Gavin.Wish he would of caught that one but he did an excellent job weighing it for me.
  2. Another thing I meant to add.I have noticed alot of guys going by results taken from fish that are being held in captivity.Fish have different characteristics from one side of the lake to the other.
  3. I think Charlie is going to take LBH's challenge. It may just take time.
  4. I will admit to looking at the solunar charts myself.I have however quit because I thought I was relying on them to much.If the window was 8:00 to 10:00 for example I would fish hard at these times and slack up at other times.I learned to fish hard every minute I am out there.I guess this subject can walk a thin line.I believe it is good to know your bass biology and taking water temps, elevation, water releases, weather, etc. into consideration before I fish, there is some sort of science being applied.I just think there are some who are overkill and there are some who don't use any of it.To me the science part of it helps mostly with locating fish.
  5. It's usually either location or presentation.

What do ya'll think of this one?
  8. That's cool Whittler.I like it !
  9. LBH,Wow,she's a nice one!Just look at those eyes and that mouth.Where did you find her?I bet she put up a fight! What is she 6,7 pounds?I know she's a keeper.
  10. That's what I'm talking about DD.I know to many good ole' boys that couldn't tell you anything about bass science, but they catch nice limits day in and day out.
  11. Well that would make me a Junior Member "Neophyte" then. I don't believe if you are a guy or gal it matters.I don't even pay any attention to the gender symbols. All that matters is that you love to bass fish!
  12. I have read alot of articles in the past and present.I enjoy reading them for knowledge and discovery.Sometimes I may get into an article or just see something somebody wrote and think "that's just to much".I mean really Ph balances, solunar charts, are just some of the things that are to technical for me.Sure there are alot of things as far as lake elevation, water temps, weather, and water releases that I check before I fish, but I'm talking about all those scientific studies that I don't feel hold true all the time. There are to many times I have been on the lake and the fish are doing something that doesn't make scientific sense. That's why I try to use my instincts though observation of what I see and what I feel to tell me how and where I need to be fishing. What do you guys and gals think?
  13. Could someone please define neophyte?
  14. Now that's a TOAD!Nice job Flabassman.Just totally awsome!
  15. I would make sure I knew their majors food source and offer them something different. For example if they feed primarily on baitfish I would try a craw presentation.I know bass can be hard to figure out at times but you can do it,that's bassfishing!
  16. I love the yacht. To bad, I can't even afford the gas to go look at one. :-[ Anyway I'll start by saying any boat that floats is good.I know the pain of not having nothing and being a full time bank fisherman.I co-angled in several tournaments last year.I got a chance to ride in alot of different brands of boats. The boat with the best ride, IMO, is a Bullet 21XD,but I don't like how they sit in the water when fishing(uphill).I thought Tritons were to squirrelly(may have been the drivers)but I have heard that from others too.Rangers are good boats but gosh they think alot of them, just check out the price.I never got a chance to ride in a Skeeter or Nitro so no opinion there. Finally the best boat for the money,IMO,a Stratos!I got mine last September and I love it.Great ride, fishes good, and I love the setup as far as the compartments.I'm not saying you should get one before you get anything else, but you should check them out.
  17. I Agree!
  18. That is the one I love.My PB fell victim to it!I know she's ugly but no pounds were deducted.
  19. This question has been asked alot, that's okay.I have tried to explain it,but I get to technical.I heard somebody say look at a tree. The trunk is the main channel. The big branches would be the tributaries or bays, these would be where main lake points evolve. The smaller limbs would be where the secondary points evolve.
  20. I'm not from the area but,Ican tell you that the pre-spawn patterns will start when the water temp gets about 52-55 degrees.I like to throw craw colored cranks,a jig,and I'm really going to work on the jerkbait bite this year.I usually fish close to deeper water on my lake.
  21. I read a couple of post by Raul a year ago or so called The Power of Observation 1 and 2.I have had alot of good tips that helped me alot, but this post really pushed me in the right direction.Raul just happen to post it at the right time for me.Thanks Raul! P.S. Raul posted it but I heard Rick Clunn wrote it! ;D
  22. Just wondering what some of you smallmouth guys do to catch smallmouth during the pre-spawn and during the spawn?
  23. You will need to get a sealant for the wood.It should be applied before the paint.Hobby shops should have something.I have noticed a sealer in the model car section at Hobby Lobby.I think it would work. The main thing is to get something that is waterproof.
