  1. Yeah ford and chevy's are nice cars and trucks you get alot of practice working on them, But me I think I stick with my never has let me down jap car I don't like busting my knuckles up working on a vehicle
  2. Do yourself a favor buy a toyota at least you won't have to work on it everyday and know you have a dependable long lasting truck
  3. Let's not go down that road agin about stocking trout. That was a long debate on the last post about the wr
  4. but we don't have a picture of perrys fish and who's to say that the scales used to weigh perrys was accurate back then being accurate wasn't that big of a concern
  5. The last thing we want is another record standing for 70 years and people wondering was it foul hooked on purpose or accicent. I think the guy done the right thing it takes some big kahunnas to do something like that. I would much rather my self have it hooked in the mouth than foul hooked and everyone saying that I snaggged it. He make the right call and no matter what anyone says it's still the biggest bass ever caught..by the way I'm not saying he snagged it on purpose if he was low enough to do that then he wouldn't have released it
  6. Rodger310 are you going to call in tommorow and head to the lake
  7. aiming for a 10 pouder this year
  8. only time will tell with this one. But it's not looking good :-? hopefully there will be some pics soon
  9. I don't mind if someone keeps a few smaller legal fish thats not the issue here I catch and release only myself I think the bigger fish 5pds plus should not be kept at least till after the spawn is over. Even at the classic atleast they were turned loose at the end in hopes of maybe being able to respawn agin next year I have seen this statement more than once on this forum big fish produce big fish. I don't have a problem with someone wanting to eat a couple smaller fish here and there but atleast leave the big ones there they can't be that good of a meal
  10. Did anyone happen to see that segment on basscenter this morning. I heard on guy say that he keeps them small or big didn't matter to him as long as they were legal I hated watching it. They should not be allowed to keep big fish during the spawn
  11. I might be mistaken here but I thought that it was caught on the TN side of dale hollow I know that ky does not reconize it as a state record. Leitchfield ky is not where dale hollow is at it is where david hayes lives. Imo opinion it was caught on the tennesee side of the lake so it rightfully belongs to TN dosen't matter to me if the both states share the lake or not
  12. Thats not a bite thats the whole meal
  13. I'm with senko77 right before one is the best time of course unless you see lighting. But just a warning I seen on a show that lighting can strike 3 or 4 miles ahead of the storm as well I have caught alot before a storm but I don't stay out very long I ain't taken any chances the fish will be there after might not be biteing but be there
  14. If you know the fish are there maybe a senko rigged weightless just a thought could be wrong though
  15. I would still contact the fish and wildlife dept to tell them what happend for the simple fact that they will be aware there is something going on out there. And for future referance I would not even have touched the thing I would have called as soon as posiable to get them out there So they could have monitered it and caught the slimebags who put it there, taking it out releasing the fish and taking it home isn't going to stop them. The only way that will happen is for them to get caught in the act. And I'm not real sure about this part but was it a fish trap or just a cage someone built to hold fish they caught both I'm sure are illegal but I talked to a game warden here where I live because I seen them with a trailer load of fish traps I didn't know what they where then I was young but after him telling me what they where he said never never get caught in possesion of a fish trap empty or with fish in it. The reaon I say this is what if you where seen by a game warden with the trap on your boat there is no way of proving that it isn't yours and that you really did release any fish in it. You never know what could happen fish trap or cage you never know who is going to pop up on you at anytime I would hate to see someone honest get nailed because they thought they where doing the right thing which you was doing the right thing but in someone else's eyes might have thought different
  16. When I get a boat I will definatly remember that
  17. ;D never give up lbh do you. I hope you catch a big one but it looks like your going to be late on this one. It couldn't have waited for 3 more weeks until you got your shot at it
  18. My prayers are with you and your family
  19. Thanks guys for the help I went out today and fished some after work and the tips helped out alot. and it was windy yesterday so that had some to do with it. the only problem I had today was I got bit and went to set the hook just to have the drag not set right and lost the fish Thanks agin fella's
  20. So turn the rod so that the rod handle's are pointed toward the sky am I correct or still in the dark here And thanks a bunch for the help so far I find it truly amazing some of the simplest things that you think are easy to do isn't
  21. I can cast sidearm, underhand, flip and pitch but when it come's to overhand there are days I can do it without a problem and days I feel like chucking the rod and reel out into the water when trying to cast overhand. Does anyone else have problems doing it. cause I'm about to say the hell with the overhand and just stick with what I'm good at. It's realy bugging me > any thoughts on what to do
  22. It's really obvious that this post is getting heated up. Face it california is more than likely the next home of the world record lm I might not like that fact but have to live with it. So lets give this one a rest and just wait until the thing is caught besides this has gotten off of the posted subject of is the current one legit to where the next will be caught As i have said before the current perry world record is just that a world record and we all have to live with it until the next one is caught regardless if you think it's legit or not. Man it sure is good this is on a forum instead of a bar or something. I think some of you guys would be going at it by now
  23. Guys I guess we could debate this forever but the fact remains we wasn't there and we will probally never know. This post has got so many good points that it get's ones mind going back a forth. I guess I will still beleve it is the record because it's on the paper as the record like it or not we all have to live with it until the next one is caught. But if you stop and think of it isn't amazeing that one has not been caught yet with so many people fishing you would honestly think or atleast I do that one would be caught by now. I would like to think as well that there is a picture out there somewhere maybe stashed in someones attic and them not knowing what it really is worth to us But who knows all we have is the wait until is broken agin Lets put this one to bed
