  1. What kind of line do you prefer for topwaters?
  2. Hey guys, never noticed there was a tacklemaking forum here! So excited! I'm hoping to start assembling my own jigs. Any one have some advice, videos or anything you think I should know?
  3. I never understood why you wouldn't want a rattle, does it spook fish? I'm primarily talking about jigs, but I assume the reason would be the same for cranks or whatever.
  4. This is true^^^ I love it. I use it for my moving baits.
  5. It's just a dial on the side, very straight forward. As they've stated, BB1 is where it's at.
  6. I'll be another to get behind the Okuma rods. I use a Lews Superduty with 25# copoly.
  7. Such a loaded question. For more than 1/4 oz I use a Dobyns DX744 Less than 1/4 oz I use a 6'10 Fenwick EliteTech Medium-Light.
  8. Good to hear, let us know how you like it!
  9. Sweet reels and great for the price. My friend often says Lew's biggest mistake was making such a good reel for such a low price.
  10. Love the reel. Smooth as butter and I can throw a 1/2oz crankbait past China. If you're gonna crank, get a BB1 (Pro if you throw many sizes). And the Tourney Pro covers everything else.
  11. To the hijacker: It's easier to see braid moving in the water, and it transmits better, ie no stretch. And as long as you have a leader, it's just as sneaky. The biggest benefit is line management, it's supple and has no memory on the spool. To the OP: I really like Sunline, the Kanzen braid is top notch. It also comes in yellow which is super visible in stained water.
  12. As they've said, it's IPT. I have a Lew's SuperDuty in 8.0:1, love it.
  13. Took an old rod outside and smacked it against a tree a few times after I bombed an exam lol
  14. Just ordered muskie braid and a bunch of soft swimbaits for the coming thaw. Will be purchasing loads of SPro baits come thaw, once we put an order in, I'll be broke.
  15. HAhaha this thread made my day. I'd pick the black Big Bites twin tailed grubs, like the bass ones. They smell and taste like licorice.
  16. This is exactly what I was planning on doing but I ended up working full time instead. By the sounds of it, I'll be buying jig heads and adding the skirts. Where do I buy these jig heads for $0.60 that someone mentioned?
  17. Lemme know how it goes! What water are you hitting?
  18. I meant gripes against the stuff they sell on TW, naked baits or something?
  19. I think I might make a couple dozen in colors I like/use, just for fun. I can get the stuff from TW for 20% off, any one got gripes against it?
  20. I dont wanna talk about it... I also tend to buy from discounted sponsors, so my total is a bit lower than it "should" be.
