  2. thanks so pretty much cast it out on slack line let it bottom take in a little line and just do little pops with the rod tip down?
  3. thanks for the advice i feel like micro guides on a spinning reel is 50-50 thats why im thinking about going regular guides its primarily gonna be used to work 1/8 oz to 3/8oz jigs and soft plastics in the crik mainly 1/8 tubes and soft plastic craws
  4. i get that part but how do you drag it do you drop the rod tip and take in slack line while twitching it sideways or what
  5. everytime i read an article about tube or crawdad baits people mention dragging it but no one really says whats the proper way to drag it to keep it in contact with the bottom can anyone help me and describe the technique cause i know it will kill the smallies in my area as of right now i raise my rod tip or twitch it but want to learn to properly "drag a bait"
  6. thanks and i was debating have you ever used micro guides on a spinning rod? i feel like it wont work too well thats why i was probably gonna go with the regular savvy cause idk how micro guides work on spinning gear
  7. im on the hunt for a new spinning rod and i came across the dobyns savvy rods i wanted to know if anyone has used either the savvy micro or the regular savvy i was looking at the 6'9 mlt rods and wanted to know if anyone has used them or if they know anyone who has them and how they like them
  8. pretty similiar to that minus the orange pincers and slightly more a blue gray hint
  9. thanks for the advice flyeagle it really helped i used a tube yesterday the only problem i ran into was with the exposed hook on the jig head i got so many d**n hangups i just gave up ha but im gonna give them another try and attempt to figure out a way to get less snag ups
  10. thanks for the advice and what color tubes do you use i looked at my craws and there a mix between a blueish gray and a green pumpkin having a hard time finding the perfect color and do you reel it slowly or twitch it across the bottom and yeah flyeagles ive seen some bruisers roll up close to me and just sit there like im nothing same with the musky they are really ballsy around my area
  11. ok well i gotta find a color between a green pumpkin and grayish blue and ill be golden do you bounce it slow rewtrieve it or twitch it
  12. so do you use an actual jig head or tube jig head
  13. ok thanks for the advice ill have to check them out do you use a tube jig head or an actual jig head

ha well maybe bulk isnt such a good idea than but the main thing is i go through craws so quickly in the crik and its so pricey buying bags and bags
  16. yeah i noticed that the craws are a grayish blue with orange tips ive been trying to find a good dye that clearly makes the pincers orange i havent had much luck but ive been doing my usual retrieve and action which is slowly crawing and twitching it across the rocks into the pools but can anyone send me links of those craws you guys are talking about
  17. the only problem about the football jig heads is the crik i fish its mainly shallow and heavy with rock cover and limestone ive used a football jig a few times but its a real pain do you know any jig heads that are pretty good for rock?

thanks for the tips i really like the doc one espically having the options of customizing it
  19. thanks for all the tips but the reason i asked about the realism is because usually the part of the crik i fish is extremely clear and the larger size smallies are very finicky when it comes to baits ive been using the zoom critter craw yum crawbug and yum craw papi with good success and i did match the hatch green pumpkin with a little orange on the pincers is deadly
  20. i need help finding bulk soft plastics mainly craws and tubes does anyone know a good site or place that sells bulk of either one of those at a reasonable price
  21. this is more of an opinion suggestion thing i want to know from guys who use craw baits for crik or river smallies and think which ones work the best or look most realistic in clear water situation ive been experimenting with many different craws and want to find some other fellow bronzie hunters like to use (i use primarily green pumpkin colors so craws that have color would be a bonus)
  22. i use the popper in the crik a lot its real tough to use when theres a current what i do is either cast up stream and pop and sit and when i let it sit the current starts moving it and after 2-3 seconds i give another pop with good results the other way i use it is cast up near the shore line around fallen trees and other brush and pop it back into the main current ive had pretty good luck with both but i feel it works best when the current is a little slower
  23. what kind of problems did you have
  24. i use 10# because i transition from crik to lake or ponds also but not to much anymore i use the xt a lot its good but i just want something a little thinner and i use reel magic conditioner im thinking about going back to the kvd one but if the yo zuri 6# breaks at 11# ill probably go with a 8# spool
  25. so is it like a braid or is it like a copolymer line?
