  2. ill have to take a look hows the drag on it? is it sealed and also is it a smooth drag? i have a pfluger surpreme xt and ive noticed the drag isnt like my old shimano sahara the drag on that couldnt be more smooth
  3. i was looking at the new shimano spinning reels that are coming out and my question is do any of them have either a waterproof or sealed drag? i know the old saros did but its not saying anything about the new ones does anyone know i'm thinking about buying one but not until i find out about the drag
  4. thanks for all the advice ill probably go with the 6'3 my only question is how is the casting distance with the 6'3?
  5. they got great reviews the thing is i wade the crik right now im using a 6'6 m action
  6. im planning on buying one of there spinning rods but im stumped on which one to get so id thought id come here and get advice from others who have them and ive gotten great advice here before ill be using it for the crik to chase smallies and mainly throwing an 1/8oz soft plastic up to a 1/2oz finesse jig i dont know what size to get or action i heard mixed reviews about the extra fast tip so anyone own any and please tell me how they like them it will really help me out
  7. thats good to know cause thats the new type of rod i wanna get
  8. i deff like the looks of those rods and they seem really nice ill probably get one of them thanks for the advice
  9. i was looking at them and they seem very nice what is the lure limit 3/8?
  10. has anyone used this rod or own it seems like a pretty nice spinning rod but before i think about purchasing it i wanted to see if anyone has used it or owns it and how they like it i mean for 230 bucks i wanna know before i buy
  11. Im in the market for a new spinning rod my price range is up to $200 ill be using baits from 1/8 up to 3/8oz but would like a rod rated to 1/2oz i need something with a fast action but a good amount of back bone and sensitivity because ill be mainly using jigs and soft plastics on the rod and #10lb line anyone that knows a rod that they really like in that price range id love to hear and lastly nothing shorter than a 6'6 all advice is great
  12. for not to breaking the bank id say bps carbonlite and a shimano sahara they are on sale right now on bps and the whole set up will only run you about 160 and its a great set up thats what i was using before i got my pfluger surpreme
  13. ive been using p line fluro clear and yo zuri hybrid i like the p line because it lays on the reel nicely but i love the yo zuri for everything else im stuck between the 2 since braid is hit and miss for rocky areas anyone try the mc coy mean green copolymer line? ive read the reviews people seem to love it
  14. its pretty much on the cusp of your price limit but bps carbonlite they are great rods come in a lot of lengths and actions i have a 6'6 medium fast and the thing is great im planning on buying another or maybe 2 its roughly like 105 after taxes here in pa
  15. thats what i was thinking too i mean its almost always extremely clear water so i was gonna run a longer f/c leader due to that reason and the strength of braid would be nice just in case
  16. what would you recommend then? i was gonna run at least a 2ft lluro leader
  17. im probably gonna run #20 the reason why is because the area im fishing is so heavy with rock
  18. ha very true what is your favorite braid or which ones do you like on spinning gear?
  19. so what type of braid do you guys like for clear water finesse ill be running either #20 or #30 with a yo zuri hybrid leader
  20. so with the fluro leader is it pretty abrasion resistant? and does anyone have a braid they really like i mainly fish rivers and and crik which is extremely clear so something that isnt really visible is a must
  21. what kind of braid do you guys recommend?
  22. i was wondering if anyone knows any good flurocarbon for spinning reels like wont spool off the reel and all that good stuff im looking for something in the #10 range any advice would be great
  23. i have the carbonlite right now its a great rod the only thing i dont like about it is when the grip gets pretty wet its tough to keep a solid grip on it other than that it is a good rod i was looking at the perfecta rod they seem pretty nice
  24. im on the hunt for a new spinning rod i need something that is sensitive and has good back bone since lately ive been fishing a lot of criks for the elusive bronze backs my price range is from 100-160 nothing shorter than 6'6 preferably medium action with fast tip i mainly use 1/8oz but would like the rod to be up to 1/2 oz if anyone knows any good rods in that price range please let me know
  25. well i dont use braid and i dont think im getting microguides so i wont have to worry about that i might go to braid but still probably just gonna stick to regular guides
