  1. I own a 894 and have never had a problem with the seat or even a thought of it not being comfortable to use. My old gen 1 owemen, now thats another story.
  2. I have a 7ft 11 for swimbaits but I really have nothing to compare it to as its my 1st swimbait setup. I do like it. There is a huge thread on tt as you might have seen. Might be your best bet.
  3. I carried 2 extra reels with me today actually because I only wanted to bring 2 rods. If for some reason I was going to go froggin, I had a beater reel with braid on it that was usable on one of the 2 rods I brought. I had another all fluoro reel but I just stuck with light braid and a leader for the bottom contact.
  4. I bought a casting rod but haven't used it yet....TW had the wrong weights listed for it, they listed the spinning on the casting model. I emailed them to change it, they havent yet. It balances perfectly with a daiwa px-r. Luckily I also bought a Phenix Maxim that can cast the weights I need.
  5. Is the exsence's drag sound really exciting? Lol
  6. I use to go to town with those 1 dollar baits. The bands may break that hold the skirt material on but other than that Ive caught tons of bass and snakehead on them. They are only 1/4 oz tho. I usually shop the clearance rack at DSG for spinner baits but Im not too opposed to the walmart cheapies.
  7. The rod feels good, Im happy with it. Its not super heavy so I had no issue with multiple casts. I almost tied on a jig at one point. I threw a storm kickin shad and a shell cracker on it today. I didn't have any heavier baits with me than those two but it handled them with ease. Its rated up to 6oz supposedly. I had 2 bites, one came off the shell cracker and I saw another bass chomping the shad but it didn't commit. I cant really speak on how it handled any fish. I bought a fuji hook keeper from BPS when I bought the 25lb cxx I put on the reel, doesn't have one if that matters to you. Once I get back from work travel next week, Ill be able to test it with heavier savage gear lures I bought on clearance a while back. Now I can actually use them.
  8. I got mine from american legacy (Levante) Model.
  9. 1st swim bait setup
  10. Seeing that jig tied onto your beautiful setup is bringing tears to my eyes, its been so long since I have bass fished but tomorrow it will happen!!!
  11. Most of those reels are less expensive on the auction sites. The MGXtreme is around $350 the curado is 150 or less. I'd get the curado based on price and performance. The reel works well and the money saved on the MGX gives you a lot of extra budget from the store you're buying from, if you choose to hit the 500 mark on spending.
  12. These pics have me wanting to come back out of retirement like Jordan with the #45 Jersey
  13. This thread is giving me withdrawals. Haven't fished in 6 weeks and I cant reasonably justify buying any fishing equipment because of my schedule. I hope black Friday slaps some sense back into me.
  14. Make the spool tension pretty loose, crank the brakes up to almost max and start to turn it down from there. My sx brakes are almost maxed out and it casts far without problems in this fashion without finicky backlashing (3/4 to near max)
  15. I hear the cabelas tournament zx frog rods are excellent and they're on sale right now.
  16. I hear the cabelas tournament zx frog rods are excellent and they're on sale right now.
  17. Thanks. I was hoodwinked! Ill probably swap another reel onto it. I had that with me at work.
  18. I bought one but my fishing time has been extremely limited. I do like it a lot though, its unbelievably light. I have it on a 7ft3 medium *** with 30lb braid throwing light texas rigs.
