Pros n cons. I have 2 of each and use the curados more. They feel better to me overall, size etc. My tat type-r 8.1:1 feels like is laboring on certain baits that it shouldn't, so I found myself using the regular version of the tat more in the 7 gearing, the R looks better to me, should have gotten the 6. whatever. I honestly think the curados cast as far as the tats if not better. The braking is much easier on the tat to dial in since its external and you just have to deal with spool tension rather than opening a side plate for the internal braking, then adjusting the secondary dial plus spool tension on the curado. The tats are less expensive, they were 50 off retail when I got them way back and now they are even cheaper, under 100 retail for the regular and 130 or lesser for the R. Curados were to be found for 129-139.99 recently on retail sites which is less than what I paid which was retail, ebay still has them discounted under 140, oooof!

I bought a clearance endurance 723, it does feel softer an it balances great. I was late to the Powell party but based on the purchase and your review, I may be intrigued to pick one up, especially since they are 20% off right now on BTD . com. Enjoy fishing it!

I believe after 30 days you have to deal with Abu for warranty issues. Im not sure what their replacement terms are at Abu for damage in that manner since you broke the rod in a window. Send them an email and see what they say.

I like my MMP a lot. Lightweight and the balance is pretty good. Picked one up from fishfreakonline locally. Great store.

I believe its 4 carrier. I've had no probs with it since experimenting with it initially on freshwater fish. I have 2 boxes sitting to be spooled onto some spare spools I have for salt water and a guest rod. I have it on about 5 of my reels ranging from 10-50 lbs in spinning and casting. Personally I love the orange color. The line was also less expensive than the Subway combo I bought when leaving the Walmart. I guarantee you that the cookies that came with the combo taste better than the line though!

Orange power! I have been buying this also for the most part. I picked up 3 spools of USA braid yesterday. I have some suffix 832, pp regular, spiderwire cant remember which, sunline fx2 and stren on other reels right now. I tried zebco braid but it ran thicker than other brands did.

Write Abu on it with a sharpie, it'll fly under the radar.

You can find tatulas just over 100 also online if you like those reels. They have them at many stores (Dicks Sporting Goods) like the lews so you can touch and feel the display models to see if you like.

I used a bps cranking stick for double duty and it works. Im sure you can probably make any cranking rod work or buy one specific to vegetation if you're fishing around a lot of it so its not too flimsy to rip the baits out of it.

It's not something that I actually need but like you, Im weak. What are you spooling it with, light fluoro or braid for more capacity since the spool is shallow?

Email abu customer service, they will probably ship you a new rod between 0-20 bucks and you dont even have to ship back the original rod. You can always go to a rod store and get the tip repaired for about 10 bucks. I had the same thing happen and ended up with 2 functioning rods.
