You can get a berkley lightning rod or shock in the same price range which will be more sensitive if looking for a reasonable alternative. If you have a Dicks Sporting Goods near, theres tons of rods on clearance also right now.

I used to recommend the senko but now the bite around here has died down tremendously on them. My next recc would be some sort of swimming fluke or paddle tailed swimbait based on success.

Soon I'll have my second NRX, hopefully this one will be a one piece fishable version Handle was broken into many pieces. It'll work extremely well for frogging. All my veritas rods have held up to fish here in So. Fla without a hiccup. Im actually interested in what the 2.0 frog rod is like in comparison to the older models.

The griffin canal isn't that far away, there are peas in there as well as the canal that runs from markham on the north side of I-595. If you need something right right right by the airport, I can try asking a friend.
