Try putting some oil inside the cover where the brakes are to see if that quiets it down.

I have the same rod and it feels good with the curado I on it, that was the 1st reel I tested out on the rod. The curados are so low in price right now, that would be my choice of the 3.

Thats the only knot I use, learned it from a fishing book my mom bought me when I was 10 or so, 36 now. I use 5 turns, sometimes more. I havent had any problems with it and you can control the tag end, no waste.

I got a spool free with a zillion that I bought. I had never used it before but I used it for jig fishing and I had no problems detecting bites on a football jig. 12lb test. It seems like great all purpose line. I've used hybrid before tho.

I picked up a 7ft heavy MMP, my 1st. Used it today with some braid and a 1/2 oz football jig. Felt pretty good. Caught a 2.5lb fish that I had to hand line up the spillway wall. This is probably the 1st time Ive bought a 7ft rod in over 2years. They don't make a 7ft3 heavy so I settled on the 7ft.

Interesting. I got an email from another online retailer with the same price as TW, but it was listed as a sale, something must be going on.

I took my friend to my favorite bass lake where he caught his 1st jig fish. He ended up catching over 5 fish on his jig setup on bright orange USA braid with no leader. I caught 2 in that same span with my jig on moss green cxx. I think the fish cared more about what was on the end of the line than the line itself based on the results.

The bay. I can ask my seller if he has more, they are NIB. It was listed at 270, I submitted an offer substantially less and they accepted. I even got free line and 2 day shipping instead of 5 day ground.

Someone had the previous version for sale on a forum the other day for 200, but they changed the knobs so I passed on it. Honestly, I was buying the reel for the looks, do not need...I will get one of these now, thanks for making me broke.

Lovely, the coastals I've seen in stock are about 320 unless you find one on auction on the bay in the low 2's or the forums.

I think you may need an 895c for 1oz jigs, I use the 894c for up to 3/4oz
