  1. I had it breaking on the spool in random spots. Even worse if I got a minor backlash it would break where it kinked with hardly any pressure. May have been a bad spool. I sent 2 emails to them and they havent returned one of them. I bought some invisx on sale, I dont know why I did based on the lack of customer service response I received about the red label. I have no problems with either line at the moment in the manner I am using them.
  2. Red label went from main line with issues to leader material with no issues, seems much better suited for that IMO
  3. It wasnt this crappy around where I fished last year, the lake draining that went on seems to have ruined where I fish. They also just sprayed to keep the algae down, which Im happy about because it was looking pretty bad. On the flip side Im catching dinks which is better than nothing. Hopefully things pick up soon because Im not used to having to drive in order to fish.
  4. Might be as Rockchalk says because they put their swimbaits on clearance a while back and the same models are full price again.
  5. Glendive, Mont. angler Melvin McDonald may have caught the new state record smallmouth bass on Friday. He was fishing on Fort Peck Reservoir which, according to Montana Department of Natural Resources officer Craig Putchat, has seen an explosion of great smallmouth bass fishing this year. The smallmouth weighed 6.7 pounds and measured 22.5 inches long. The pending record bass was caught on a Berkley Gulp Minnow while bottom bouncing for walleyes. Photo courtesy of Craig Putchat. The fish is pending approval as a state record currently.
  6. I believe so, every post I've seen indicates it. Academy swaps them out.
  7. A kid I met told me he was trolling a lure behind his kayak at the state park, then all of a sudden he started going in reverse. 20lb snook on the line
  8. you need to cut back on the olympic style lifting at the gym, focus on isolation movements....
  9. My biggest bass have come mostly on 50-65lb braid, but its what you fish the most that will give you the best odds and that happened to be my case at the time.
  10. Pflueger president is about 60 but with coupon from DSG or upcoming sale can be had around 50 Pflueger Trion Lews Speed spin orra s (50 on ebay) (various shimanos) someone will probably chime in There's a few threads that say under $100 but they have some reels in your budget You can def shoot higher than your budget using ebay and other sites to bring it into your budget
  11. Texas rigged worms with weights edit based on the post below mine shimano rods tend to have that label such as the sellus
  12. That sure is the man to ask
  13. I noticed the production version of the LDC rods are up to 8oz and the Dobyns and okuma make rods up to 10oz....the okuma is cheapest in price at 134. I see the mothers is 10.5oz in weight
  14. Yes, it happens. I remember fishing in my mother's lake, getting about 10 blowups while she was on the patio watching and she said "you missed again" Sometimes its wayyyyyy too fast of a hookset from excitement, the bass never has the bait to begin with, small fish, the cover was too thick etc. I've had times the bass misses the whole bait and it was sitting still and I think to myself this fish isn't too smart if its missing real meals in that manner. But they days when everything is right and you do it right..... you do it right!
  15. If I fish straight braid on certain plastics, they are done with one fish if it slides up the line... I added some yozuri as leader material and I can get way more use out of the same bait(flukes). Ill add fluoro to my wacky stick baits. Straight braid for certain lures and frogs. It's trial, error and preference.
  16. Try looking at lowdown customs rods... They seem to have it on lock. Also look for matt Allen on YouTube... He has tons of info..I think he uses dobyns The guys from big bass dreams use some big okuma rods Plenty of choices
  17. Im going to assume your buddy doesnt live near by because as quoted that would be the most logical thing to do
  18. I've always heard good things about them but I haven't tried them yet. I will add them to my baits to buy list.
  19. I have a bunch, no problems on any I bought. I lovem.
  20. Great rod, the rod you are looking at is light as heck. Should be a pleasure to fish. Id like that model myself for jigs.
