  1. Id suggest 50-65lb braid all around, then you can add leaders or use straight if needed. That's what I tend to carry on my 1 rod outings. If its a dedicated rod then sift through other choices. I have 15lb invisx on my so called "soft plastic/jig" rod
  2. The 2500 is more than sufficient. I watch my friend catch huge saltwater fish on that reel, that make bass look laughable, with absolutely no problems
  3. Maybe try better line first. Most people should be able to feel cranks wobble with the most inexpensive of poles and when the bait feels "different" something has happened. Unless you just want a new rod.
  4. I bought some vmc, haven't used them yet tho. Im about to get my snell on!
  5. Thanks, Ive been too lazy to post but once the weather changed a bit and I went to some other places it picked up. Ill be posting more. Maybe this month Ill have some measurements. Hopefully Ill be in the top 5
  6. I like PP and Suffix. I like 50 on my daily use baitcaster, 65 on my special usage reels. I like these weights because I usually get my lure back when casting into overhanging trees.
  7. The Berkley Havoc Subwoofer is my new goto topwater bait. Cheap and durable. Bought a bunch in a silver color for less than 2 dollars a pack today. I have caught Bass and Snakes on them. I even let them fall and swim them slowly. I know most love them as swim jig trailers.
  8. I have 2 veritas with a broken guides. Seems like a flaw with the 6ft9, same guide broke. Abu shipped 2 replacements in my requested sizes(7ft heavy and 7ft6mh) and I can get the broken guides replaced for 10 bucks each. Ending up with 4 useable rods with litte to no hassle on customer service keeps me with them. I buy all brands but they always treat me right.
  9. I caught some nice fish today on topwater. My first was near 5. I have pics, never measurements but Ill upload in a bit.
  10. I have had many tech specs. The 6ft6 seems to outcast most of my other brand rods which are longer. Only thing I dislike is the hook keeper position.Rods are solid imo
  11. Ill be fishing this weekend for sure
  12. 7ft6 carbonlite heavy action and a lews tournament pro, revo or chronarch
  13. Im liking my m/h carbonlite more and more every day for this application, more so with rocky terrain than grass dragging worms through it. May pick up a 7ft6 heavy or trade my *** for one locally.
  14. caught 15 fish today on 2 senkos....all under 1lb sigh
  15. Im glad the weather has changed because Im back to catching good #s. Bunch of 3+#s this weekend in with the normal mix of normal to dinks.
  16. Been catching but too lazy to upload pics since Im usually without the tape measure. Nothing that would put me in contention but Ive been doing good
  17. Checking in. haven't been fishing due to a new social media endeavor but there is a lake in the parking lot so I will be able to fish once I get things in place! I tried to fish saturday but got sidetracked by driving around for food. I may fish this weekend
  18. Are you going to be throwing frogs and heavy baits on it?
  19. I thought about buying that same rod, did you like it before it broke? The good thing is, you should have a new rod in less than a week if you have sent the information to Abu. I actually fished yesterday and caught a few dinks. Missed a bunch. I missed something that seemed like a big fish, but Im hoping it was a turtle instead.
  20. You're really supposed to dispose of them properly if you kill them so throwing them into the water or leaving on the bank isn't really acceptable. They encourage eating them or maybe give them to someone who eats them.
  21. Wait for the cold...point me to that canal and Ill bring a dude that will cookemup There are no snakes in my area in WPB and the crappy canals only have mayans, tilapia and really small bass. Same scenario as your canal.
  22. It was good, caught a bunch but didn't have to break necks tho...treated them like women, soft touch
  23. I caught a nice amount of fish but no measurements. Tarpon were jumping and rolling in the Griffin canal. One looked like it was near 40lbs, huge. Would have been a fight. I did catch 2peas in sunrise and the male of the pair was my hardest peacock bass fight ever. Thing was a bull and it was probably 5lbs at the most. I took some pics. We used shiners trying to catch shook, tarpon and peas. The life span of them might have been the most pitiful thing ever. I'll catch some mayans next time. I caught the peas on a Walmart hair jig.
