  1. I have a 7 ratio reel. I'm a firm believer that if you buy something new you shouldn't have to do these things. Luckily the one I have is okay but if it has any probs, you best believe it will be going back.
  2. Is that the best time to hit the Islands? I read some reports from another forum but it was a miss for the people that went there. Some were complaining about certain parts being too high. I wouldnt know what to look for anyway, Id just want to fish
  3. , BPS, ABU, Shimano(Chronarch), Browning, and Ardent all make left handed Crank Reels on BPS's Site. Lews makes on in the Tourney MG series off the top
  4. I prefer the color of the chronarch off the top. I think it does have a few extra bells(spool), bearings, etc, also
  5. Thanks. I will bring my old man there next so he can get one too. I went with a friend but he was on wife curfew so we had to leave before the streetlights came on.
  6. Yes, saw this over at another forum and tried it. Caught a fish the 1st time out
  7. Caught it on a kvd 1.5 in a park in Davie
  8. PQ is nice as the citica is also..both are on sale for 79(BPS in store for PQ)...cant go wrong with either but have more options in the PQ
  9. lol...my girl doesnt notice much luckily but...I bought a carrot stick rod on sale this week, Dad got in the car and said...you got a new rod within 10 secs...He complimented it at least..He probably thinks Im spending my life away but it was on sale Luckily the other 5 combos werent in the car. He doesnt notice reels though, thank god.
  10. The new convergence looks and feels nice based on playing around at a store

  12. A dead puffy raccoon baking in the Florida sun in a canal
  13. the older E model had tons of reviews, but since the newer model came out,,,they are gone
  14. They are 49.99 now at Gander....they feel pretty darn light, as light or lighter than a carrot stix pg in the same rating...11 micro guides on them. I may get one in 6 6 medium and demote my berkley to garage status
  15. Up for me but it has gone off line a few times last week
  16. Im RH and I like LH retrieve reels, but recently my right hand has been killing me(fractured wrist way back), so I bought a RH reel again to see if I get the same pain or not after fishing. Time will tell if I adapt or not. Ill give it a week or so.
  17. Ten casts if that and its already falling apart...Bought yesterday and its dead like the Orkin man came to visit. Hopefully it was a fluke should be like
  18. My parents enjoy your vids as well as I do. We gotta wet the line one day
  19. Try watching this if you havent http://www.bassresou...baitcaster.html See if this helps, you may want to try a higher lb test also. Try setting that know to a higher setting, thats for the brakes. You can set them to the highest and work your way down Start out with sidearm casts and get comfortable with that. You can also use your thumb to feather the spool and help with the backlashing. Once its adjusted properly for the lure you are using you usually can cast and have no overruns or birdsnest,
  20. I ended up with one 7.1 PQ and the Vendetta for now, they didnt have any 5s but I should be okay for a few weeks. Thanks for the help
  21. As of right now I have a 6.4sx revo on a veritas carbonlite 6.4 reel on carbonlite mh rod---going back JM carbonlite 7.1 RH----tried the right hand thing for a day but cant do it so its going back shimano citica on a tec spec cranking rod--- Reeless Berkley Lightning rod Spinning setup was president reel on a calico jack rod, but I gave to my dad
  22. I am returning some items to bass pro for credit or return on my card (about 300) Im confused on what I should do....my plan was to return and get a 201e7 chronarch to put on my Veritas and a vendetta rod to put my Revo on. I need a 7 ratio lh reel. Of course they dont have it in stock.(I may call again later and see if any came into the store) 1. I could either get a different reel (JM sig series, quantum smoke and the vendetta rod) 2. get 2 lesser reels such as a PQ / enigma/ reccomentations and the vendetta...this would give me 4 total reels for all of my fishing worries 3. or get money back on my debit card and buy chronarch and rod from gander and it works out the same (they have in stock) option 2 would end up as: Revo sx on the vendetta- 6ratio citica on a Berkley LR- 6 ratio enigma/PQ on cranking rod- 5 ratio enigma/PQ on Veritas- 7 ratio Im going there later on in the afternoon so I have time, thanks for any advice *edit* problem solved
  23. Saw Quantum Response at Gander. They are 59.99 which is the cheapest Ive ever seen a microguide rod for. Im not a rod expert but they felt pretty good. Dicks Sporting Goods also has new TEC SPEC rods that are 79.99 called elite and you can use the 10 dollar off coupon if needed. They are blue in color and the normal one were black so you will notice them right away of they are in your store. They come in 3 different models I believe. Im sure there are other inexpensive rods that are out there. Here's the Quantum specs http://www.quantumfishing.com/products/2352/Response.aspx feature - QX48 IM8 graphite construction - MicroTrac line guide system - Pro-style split-grip EVA handles - PacBay reel seats - Aluminum oxide guides Model Type Length Action Taper Line Weight *Handle Seat Pieces MSRP REMC661M Casting 6'6" Medium Fast 6-14 lb.
