  1. I had red label....bad bad. Im using XPS now, spooled it today , it casts well 12lb
  2. I crank with the 6ft6 m. Works well, hooked a huge soft shelled turtle and muscled him to the shore with no probs
  3. Craw on the jig for the bass and a toad for the snakehead
  4. I went back again and caught another. I tried to clean it up to take a pic and it flopped out of my hand. I had a few more chasing and hit my kvd sexy dawg but they didnt commit after the misses. A kid told me there are tons in the canal on griffin rd west of university drive this week
  5. pics or it didnt happen
  6. I just read this whole thread :-)
  7. Just give them senkos/copies and they will probably be happy. Even my friend's wife is catching 3lb fish...I like to bring all my lures with me
  8. Some daiwa when I was about 13, returned it with the quickness. No idea how to set it up back then.
  9. I have a jm carbon lite on my 7 ft 3 rod. Combo is good
  10. I found the location of it/design to be annoying. I may have to do that also at some point
  11. Split looks better but full feels better. I have one full grip rod which is an Berkley LR and I enjoy the castability of it. I always notice when I use it, even tho its ugly IMO
  12. Try putting better hooks on the lures you are using? Rod tip down to keep them from jumping if they are throwing the bait? Maybe get a better rod made for cranking or a different action tip.
  13. My gf said her Co workers bro got sick from an initial scrape. He was fishing off Sr 84, near signature grand. The city tested the water and it was contaminated according to my gf. She works in the medical field so I trust what she says more than just hearsay. Just a heads up.
  14. So you did hit the tourney. I ended up having to go to a Christening instead. I saw a few snakehead corpses where I normally fish for them but havent gotten one in about 2 weeks. I have seen them in the water though
  15. I threw 2 buzzing frogs on it and that looked good, will attempt to catch some bass and snakeheads with this week. I had the best presentation with 2 swimming flukes on swimbait hooks.
  16. You can try this also if nothing else...its about 5 bucks http://www.bassresou...-double-up-rig/ for your original I just used weightless swim flukes, light storm swimbaits and I also used grubs and fluke with smaller weighted jigheads
  17. I had a huge bass, probably 5lbs minimum hit this the other day going thru the weeds. The side of the fish looked like a small boat. It made my friend go put his on his setup. We both got snagged simultaneously but got them back. That would have sucked.
  18. I got one at dsg today. Will try a bunch of things this week
  19. I prefer LH reels. I can use RH but the stuff that takes coordination like walking the dog gives me trouble at the moment. I can cast and reel all day RH though.
  20. PQ is a great reel. Its smooth and feels solid. I got one recently and would def buy more.
  21. Has anyone used one of these yet?
  22. Times are hard, if you can feed your whole family for a day or a few days for the cost of the pack of some cheap plastic worms, do what you gotta do. If you like eating fish and you are in legal limits, who cares. Luckily I dont really like fish and have a fond liking for bass so I release all of them, but I did give one to a small kid that asked me for one, he said his mom would cook it up for him
