  1. I like the VMC i too understand the "wrapping issue" during the fight of the fish. I have only noticed the not being able to reel set when the fish are not fully taking the bait, which is not the hooks fault. a good remedy nonetheless is... bend the hook point up some, to open the bend and give it more bite.
  2. imo there is no "vs" but only Costa. Costas = living life in HD.......(still waiting on Costa to buy that slogan from me)
  3. for ME, your milage may vary..... chunk(zoom super chunk) colder water Rage in warmer water 60- 70 degress is a toss up, use both but only keep using the one you catch fish on.
  4. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Owner Deep Throat hook!!!!! it is very hard to find a jig maker that uses them anymore, I got a guy here in Arkansas that ties with it, but when it comes time to restock I am looking at these as the DREDGE FOOTBALL HEAD looks awesome!! can you do 1oz heads????
  5. we never look at 'em , we just say "d**n googleeye" and chunk it back in the water.
  6. so, what did yall catch?
  7. totally agree..........though I enjoy tapping dat bass and makin' dem my hoe and largemouth trick.(bad try at being funny)
  8. yeap a SWIM jig is really not a swim jig at all........but I digress.
  9. only knock I got on the megastrike head is it MIGHT not be so good around rock. I have noticed at Pickwick I stayed hung up more.......this might have been solved by going lighter, but with a baitcaster I didn't have much of that luxury.
  10. http://youtu.be/shTA13I_vCo and point taken Jfrancho.
  11. fail to see the truth you have.
  12. young you are, watch video you must.....
  13. I try to follow Mark Rose since we live in the same town, Randy Haynes, since he is pickwick guy. If it is a TN River tournament I try to watch the weigh in on whichever website it is on. I have friends that watch every weigh in and listen to BASS podcast/tournament results like most people listen to the radio, but I really dont.
  14. I started to grow mine last week, in preparation of getting into swimbaits.....I need all the help I can get. I started with the "JFranco" and then decided to go full "Speedbead" lol
  15. everybody just quit talking about swimbaits......ya'll are going to cost me too much money. any swimbait rod should be good to go, as sensitivity is not at a premium.
  16. I never thought there was a big difference between the Tournament and regular speed spool. but there is a HUGE difference between the tournament and tournament pro, IMO
  17. you can use any color of line you want to, as along as its fluorocarbon.
  18. no wrong way to fish it! and don't kill yourself......but if you are thinking about it, seek help.
  19. then get 1/4. 3/8 and 1/2 (I use baitcaster) or 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 if you shakey head on spinning gear I have fished the 1/4 down to 15-20 foot........but if it is windy or current then you need to step it up, IMO those are good starting points, but just like anything else, when you actually start fishing them you will wind up with more than you need or expected to collect.
  20. post up a pic of that beast!
  21. 1/4 most of the time.........but have them in 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2
  22. I always carry my phone, and when/if I get a newer boat it will have a radio in it. I love music and I see nothing better than hauling in hawgs while rocking out, or relaxing to some jazz. any noise it makes is covered up by a hydrowave right?
  23. if you plan on buyin it I would without a doubt get the test done. price varies....I have called places, hours scan and compression check was $80-100 and other places it was $200+. I would be interested to see what other guys are paying as well.
  24. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/119876-kvd-10-hook-change/?p=1310660 ww2farmer sums it all up for you.
