smoothness and ease of winding is the same no matter the ratio of the gears. only time you have to "worry" about such things is when cranking on 20+ foot crankbaits.

inches per turn matter more than ratio my lews are 31" for 7.1:1 and 28" for 6.4:1...... while my shimanos are 27-28" for 7.1:1. that being said most of my reels are labeled 7.1, and mostly the lews 7.1.

I never called daiwa. I didn't want to until I had to kinda thing. and really I wasn't going to feel comfortable do so anyway, cause they would ask how it happened. Do I say I shipped to some guy that scammed me and here it is. I was hot this morning son!!!!!!! I was so mad, which was the reason I called to see why in the world they made the decision they made. It seemed like nobody had even read the emails I sent this weekend. Lesson learned, even though it went my way is: Always call to verify and find out the reasoning behind the decision.

so eBay made their ruling. They ruled that he is to ship it back, and I am to give a refund.......... so I called eBay, after 4 people I got a person I could deal with. I told them that the ruling was unacceptable and I will not wait 3 weeks to get the rod back from a place it was not authorized to be shipped to in the fist place. I told them I shipped a fully intact rod, and was delivered on Dec26 and the buyer claims to only get the rod 3 days ago. I told the buyer the rod was delivered on 26, buyer said he had to ship to Europe. I stressed again he address(paypal) was a reshipper and I should not have to be responsible for that. Ebay agreed, stating the minute it got delivered my seller duties were fulfilled, and any reshipping is on the buyer. Items reshipped are not covered under ebay buyer protection. bottomline, he keeps the rod I keep the money. Cased is now listed as closed. Reason: item not covered under buyer protection. GOOD GUYS $260 BAD GUYS 0!!!!!!!!!!

I defer to ww2farmer on this on....he fishes it, say it works in grass on those types of water, just without the bloom. good enough for me...

I use a measuring wheel at work......195 feet!!!

here is how I just filled my spools, and yes I get anal about these things. it takes an extra reel, and more time but it is exact........... 1.take your good line, measure out how much you want. I used 65 yards. with 200 yd main spool I get 3 fills. 2. spool on your good line on to reel 3. tie your backing to your good line 4. fill your reel full 5. now your backing is on top and your top shot is on bottom 6. transfer now to the reel of your choosing 7 your topshot is now on top and backing on bottom with precise amount of topshot I like this method for the fact I can keep up with how much I have left on my filler spool with no waste, and when I get down to the backing knot all I have to do is tie up and wind, knowing I am putting on the same amount of topshot. I learned this here on the boards, and it is this first time I am trying it. It sounds more than reasonable and looking forward to seeing how it works with refilling over time. hope this helps...

WTH?? those logos look NOTHING alike!! I got a few BPS gift cards and then I am done..... this is so stupid it is unbelievable. one logo is an oval with one fish jumping and the other is a circle with 3 fish jumping, how would ANYONE confuse the 2??? I will google to see if they got a website, if they do I will buy something from them just for support.

teal, that was one of my leading theories......... that he had an another steez or the same steez and bought mine to replace it. with the intent to cry wolf by using pictures of the rod he broke. I totally agree that type of damage can not happen during shipping in PVC without the PVC getting damaged too. I just don't know how that happens.....why would I ship both pieces even if I was shipping a broke rod to screw someone? I guess I am too logical and honest to understand how the scammers work.

here is the picture the buyer sent me if anyone wonders. LMAO, he thinks I shipped the rod like that??? I think I would notice.
