  1. I took some casts on the way home last night and me and my dad each got one on a popper. I lost a good sized one on a frog too. I ws wishing so bad that we were on the boat because we were hearing tons of topwater splashes out of casting distance.
  2. Im gonna be fishing on Lake Wentworth in Wolfeboro this coming weekend. Has anyone fished here yet? Any Luck if so?
  3. I had a tournament Saturday on Franklin pierce lake in Hillsborough and, unfortunately got no bass. However,I got a nice pike, Weighing in at 7lbs 10oz.
  4. Hi, So basically what i really want to know is, how should I prepare for the tournament? I did a little research on the lake in a book and on Fishidy. I also located some points and other possible places to fish. Is there anything else that I should do to prepare? Thanks!
  5. With the PQ, I believe That there is a video on youtube by TackleJunky81 and he does a full disassemble, cleaning, and reassembly of the reel. The video is really helpful and it walks you right through it.
  6. Hey guys, I'm 15 years old and i'm going to be fishing in my first junior tournament this weekend. I have honestly never fished off a boat (other than a small canoe with a trolling motor). On the boat there is going to be another angler and the boat captain/ owner (since boat use is donated by parents or club members) I was wondering if there is any thing or any one bit of advice that I should know. Thanks in advance! -Jack
  7. No matter when i am throwing a jig, I always use a trailer. If I were to throw a jig without a trailer, it would be a mop jig, or a jig with living rubber.
  8. Hey guy, I am going to be fishing at Franklin Pierce this upcoming weekend and I was wondering, 1. if anyone has fished here, 2. What have you had luck on or what you would recommend me using. Below is the depth chart. franklinpierce_hillsboro.pdf
  9. I've only gotten 1 this year so far. I got it on a Carolina rig. I missed a few on jigs too.
  10. I have always used a Texas Rig and never really used a wacky rig. I was at a meeting for a fishing club and was surprised to find that the majority of people preferred wacky rig while two or three of us said Texas rig. I was wondering what everyone else prefers to use.
  11. Today I was fishing with a Carolina rig and was using fluoro as a leader. After bringing a fish in over rocks, the line became nicked and I was able to easily brake it. So my question is, what line do you use as your leader on a Carolina rig?
  12. I got the sexy shad square bill when they first came out before this winter. I got to use it a bit and it was pretty good for me! I got a few fish on it before i was iced in this winter. Overall it is a good bait IMO.
  13. Maybe the salt actually DOES attract fish
  14. If you search in the search bar you can find lots of threads about cork cleaning. The most commonly recommended (and what i do) is to use a magic eraser to clean the cork, then after to apply U-40 cork sealant.
  15. I have always had luck with rage craws as trailers. I always be sure to have a to match up with all my jigs. To size up with the jig I normally just bite or cut it shorter. I have also used some zoom trailers that worked well also.
  16. I am looking for line that I can use on my jig rod. I am looking to for a line that will not break the bank and will hold up the whole season. Last season i just used straight braid and was wondering if there would be a better option now that I have a designated jig combo. So, what type, brand and size would you use? Thanks for the response.
  17. Rage Craw Beaver bait Senko style bait
  18. Today I got a Left Hand Pro Qualifier 7:1:1 for $65 and im planning to get a Veritas or 2. LOL my spending has been out of control!
  19. I'm at the point where I have my first trip planned out, where to go, what spot I'm going to fish at and what place to cast. Only if ice-out could hurry up.
  20. That's a good Idea, I can never find a good match for a trailer. I normally resort to a rage craw in Big Tex or for Black and Blue.
  21. Ive been trying my best to keep my spending and trips to fishing stores to a limit because every time i go I come home grab my bag and then remember there is 3ft of snow and 14 inches of ice on the ponds. LOL. Ive done everything that i can think of trying to crave my fishing addiction. Ive re-organized my bag about 6 or 7 times, Ive tried creating new rigs, and my favorites, I took one of my old reels I don't use anymore and did time trials on how fast i could take it apart completely and put it back together. LOL! Here in New Hampshire, It feels like winters are getting longer and longer each year.
  22. My previous Screen Name was Bassboy107 meaning I'm s boy and I like bass fishing. 107 was a random number. My screen name now is NH Stream Slippin', which is kind of explanatory. I'm in NH and I am notorious for slipping/falling into ponds, streams, or any type of body of water you can think of, LOL.
  23. So I've been shopping around for drop shot equipment and I saw these weights. I guess that the line just clips in and stays? My questions are, has anyone used these weights and do they actually stay on?
  24. I am mostly fishing from the bank but ocasionally out of a canoe, so mostly squarebills
