  1. I don't know much about reels but would advise to quit reeling until you fix the problem. If you continue to have this issue it's not going to fix itself and you risk even further damage to the reel.
  2. For all the great plastics Zoom makes, their tubes are at the bottom of my list. My favorite tube comes from Chompers; it's a shorter fat tube with plenty if meat in the top where you thread the hook through. I only have largemouth in my area and this is my favorite tube, with the Yum Vibra King tube being a close second.
  3. Not sure if it's the same bait, but here are some reviews of the Rogue from last year. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/99005-jerkbaits/?hl=smithwick
  4. I keep it simple. Brush heads in a black/blue and in a brown/orange. I like 1/4 oz and will occasionally fish the 1/2. I also use a swim jig in bluegill and a shad pattern, this is also a 1/4 oz version. You can buy as many baits and sizes as you want but this is what I use and keeps it simple; it also reduces the amounts and colors of trailers that you need to keep in hand.
  5. Texas rig son!
  6. TW has been low in inventory for a while but now Northstar doesn't even show up when you search the "Shop by Brand".
  7. Did Northstar quit supplying TW? I love the jigs but the lead times are a little far out for an upcoming trip. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  8. I'd cut the body in half personally, and wouldn't have the trailer hang that far back.
  9. I am from NE and am headed north on Friday to fish a small lake in Lenbgy, MN; it's straight west of Bemidji. Looking for any general reports or if you've ever fished this lake, that would be great too. Water temps and techniques working right now would also be appreciated. The guys I'm going with only throw spinnerbaits and last year I caught every fish on a Siebert jig. Thanks guys.
  10. Haven't tried the tubes but I do enjoy the hooks. Have you ever had tubes that weren't "Well cut and even"????????
  11. This lure can still be found for sale; the Spit'n image is my FAVORITE bait for top water, and I buy all I can find on eBay.
  12. My question was about the swim jigs; I'm not interested in the Flip and Swims. No worries though, I put in an order for Dirty jigs last night; they've got some great swim jigs from what I've heard.
  13. At update on this? I've got a trip coming up and can't wait for them to be done directly from Northstar. TW says they only have 1 color of swim jig available????
  14. They might be panfish or small bass that have a tendency to just "pick" at lures
  15. Couldn't agree more about Fishing University, and they do not even hide the fact that the show is a 1/2 hour commercial for whatever lure they're using that day; because they only use 1 lure. They were using one of the Little John cranks from Spro the other day, and John Crews was fishing with him. They both threw the same lure right behind each other? Really? I'd think the guy in the back of the boat would throw something different if they really wanted to find a pattern and catch as many fish as possible.
  16. Update, Timmy Horton is making a race up the Angler of the Year standings and is currently sitting at.... (Drumroll please) 82nd, ahhh. Just kidding, but i did want to see how we was doing this year. I'm a KVD guy, but am ver impressed with Evers' consistency.
  17. Did Northstar quit supplying TW? I think they only have a couple of jigs still listed on the site.
  18. I'll second the brush jig and have been impressed with the quality. I bought several different types during a sale he had last year, but have yet to find a reason to throw anything but the copperhead jig head with a Halloween skirt; it's killer with a Yum Crawbug as a trailer. (Crawdad color)
  19. 3rd for Tackle Warehouse. I like Trilene on my spinning reels. Have heard a lot about yozuri hybrid but have never tried it.
  20. Are you talking about the 2.5" Yum Crawbug? If so, they still make those.
  21. I like and use the Rage Craws but prefer the Yum Crawbug as a trailer. I also like and take the advice of specific people on this site since I value their opinions over others; again who's to say what's right and what's wrong. I do not like to get contradictory advice about certain brands or products, which is where the archived search comes in. Site sponsors don't necessarily have a better or worse product than what's on the market, and I like to support them when I can. Rage Tail, Northstar, Siebert, Seagaur and DVT have all seen money from this guy in the last 2 months, and unfortunately, so have many other companies.
  22. Ahhhh, you almost had it. Do you know how "percents" work?He finished 99th out of 100. That would be in the top 99% of the 100 anglers that participated.
  23. Haha, thanks for the insight and though I don't really care at all for tournaments, I'll probably keep an eye on how Horton does this season. He did just finish in the top 99% of Elite anglers at Bull Shoals; just sayin'...
  24. I check in and out. I like KVD and he obviously does ok.I relish seeing Reese, Martens and Ish sitting below the cut, and I seem to always find Horton there too. I do know he is currently in 91st place at Bull Shoals.
  25. Little late to be asking this question????? Haha, I keep all my rods and reels in a walk-in closet inside the house. More because of paranoia than anything, but I would think your stuff would be fine in the garage. I do store all of my plastics in their original bags in plastic totes in the garage with no noticeable effects so far
