  1. From the looks of these posts, the only "Must Have" is the Baby Brush Hog.I love the baby brush hog and I haven't seen the need to try any new baits since I honestly always have success with it. I know some of the mods on this forum seem a little biased, but I have also received some good tips from them in the past. The Megabug does look good, and I would try it if I could find it somewhere other than online, but I don't remember seeing it any stores. Maybe next time I put in an order to TW, I'll add a pack on. I did buy a few packs of Pit Bosses and Fat Ikas that I'm looking forward to trying this year.
  2. I never fish the Rogue, but my favorite is the Xcalibur in Foxy Mama. Also love the pointers in sexy shad, and am excited to try the new KVD bait from Strike King.
  3. Copper head with a Halloween skirt is my favorite combo and killer when you add a Yum Crawbug in the crawdad color; it's not even fair.
  4. I like mono on a MH rod, like a spinnerbait. I like a stout rod; the chatter baits I've used have noticeably more vibration than spinnerbaits.
  5. Strike King Spence Scout; that bait is the classic squarebill and can't get hung. Gitzit tube Yum Crawbug
  6. I was a strict BPS guy but bought a Curado 50e and 200e. The Shimanos are nice reels and their longevity is well known so I know they are going to be dependable. I will say, however, that I will take my BPS Prolite Finesse over my 50e any day.
  7. With the way KVD fishes, I'm surprised that Quantum makes anything slower than a 7.1:1 reel. He probably needs a 5.1:1 reel to fish as fast as the rest of us do with a 7.1:1 "Burner".
  8. He doesn't tourney fish because he doesn't have to. I love Bill and still love his show as much as I used to. Not sure how many are staged, but of the snake falling pit of the tree that he got his bait stuck in was staged, bravo, because that looks REAL to me.
  9. I'm a huge BPS reel fan and had the cranking version of the Extreme. I liked it and kept it, but I couldnt get used to the feel; too used to my PQs i guess. Nice little reel for the price, and though I prefer the PQ, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Extreme
  10. I bought every color available of the Buttoneye minnow after watching Bill Dance one morning as am impressionable 16 year old... He got me, but I actually did really well on bass with them. Haven't seen them in a while, but I would start with eBay.
  11. Funny you say that, and I suppose it's what you get from an Internet forum, but I cannot disagree more. If I had $100 to spend in a combo, I would do 70/30 on rod versus reel. I used to work at BPS and think that the graphite series was junk. At any rate, there re obviously people that like the series, so I'm sure you could find success with them. I'd wait until the classic to find great deals with the rod and reel trade in, but think you could find a great deal ona Pro Qualifier reel and a Bionic series rod. Good luck.
  12. Just got the 4" version in from TW yesterday, and they do look SICK! I'm still waiting for the smaller version to come in from BPS; weird that BPS offers something that TW doesn't. Anywho, won't be able to try them for awhile, but I cannot see how they won't kill the bass.
  13. I like the smaller version on the back of my a swim jig. Nice bait, but kind of pricey unless you find then on sale. I like the Shadalicious which I've found great deals on, and the Basstrix baits for a comparable price.
  14. 1). KVD or RC 1.5 2). Bomber Fat Free Fry 3). Norman DD22
  15. I'll third or fourth or fifth this selection. I've got 3 of the 6920 (ultra lite models) and have had them for 4 years with no issues.
  16. Ha, I thought it was because I was on my iPad. I just watch Glenn's videos on youTube anyways.
  17. Put the fish in a weigh-in bag and weigh the bag, or try a net. Putting the scale hook through the gill plate or fish's mouth puts unnecessary stress on the fish.
  18. I like the action of the Spro Baby BBZ-1 swimbait. That's about the smallest hard swimbait that I've used though. I can't wait to try the new Havoc Sick Fish this spring.
  19. I only use black and green pumpkin bullet weights. Not sure if it matters or not, but it's a confidence thing with me.
  20. Thermacell has been working great this past year.
  21. Nice. What was your favorite way to rig them? Weightless, keel weighted hook, jig head?
  22. KVD for the skills, but Jeff Kriet for the thrills. The few times I've seen Kriet on fishing shows, he seems hilarious.
  23. Where did you find them already? Every place I've seen them has been back ordered.
  24. Just got a notification from TW that my 4" order of 9 packs of Sick Fish have been packed and will be out for delivery soon. The 3.5" packs that I ordered from Bass Pro still say "On Backorder" but I've got plenty of time before I'll be able to use them on the water around here, and I'll just be excited to see what they look like in person.
  25. Chompers and Yum VibraKing tubes for thia guy.
