  1. I just picked up 2 6'6" MH micro guide Veritas casting rods for $50 a piece st Scheel's. Not crazy about the length, but at that price I'll deal with it
  2. And he sets the hook... Let me guess ... A Pinnacle?
  3. Big-O jig with a copper head and Haloween skirt is the best looking and producing jig I've found to date. Add a crawdad colored Yum Crawbug, and it's literally not even fair. Love the products and have had great success with Chris' customer service.
  4. I bought the 50e since I've heard so many great things about it, and the 200e5 to pu on my Veritas Winch for cranking.
  5. I had the same luck this past weekend with the Huskers and the Broncos. Feels good, doesn't it?
  6. Get it? Haha. Anywho, I recently bought a 50e and a 200e on eBay and the 50 has a black/plastic looking drag star, and the 200 has a silver/metallic looking drag star. Is that a difference in the models? I like the silver one better and would like to get my 50 the same one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, h8er
  7. I've seen the Nu Jig advertisemed on another site; they were even giving away 50on jigs
  8. Really? The mods on this forum never cease to amaze.
  9. Peach Perch
  10. What's the breaking point on that 12 lb. Yo-Zuri Hybrid that you always preach about? That would make that smalley at least 19 lbs I'd guess.
  11. I have 3 Presidents; all the 6920 ultra-lite models and I have zero complaints.
  12. Lots of weird weather this year. Nebraska went from a 500-year flood to a drought for the ages in less 7 months. Wishing everybody the best from NE.
  13. Back to the OPs (my) original thread... Which is about 50e upgrades... Thank you for all the helpful posts and no thanks to the last page and a half of junk. Thanks for the PM as well DVT, I'll be contacting you soon,
  14. Thanks for all the replies guys. Can't say that a handle upgrade is too high on my list. Do you just need to replace the 2 bearings behind the tension know and in the sideplate?
  15. Any link to info or videos on doing this? I keep hearing about it but have no idea what it means. Thanks for all the help guys.
  16. I just bought this reel on eBay, and though it passes the initial eye test, it isn't as smooth as I was expecting after hearing so much about these reels. I plan on sending this into DVT for a clean, tune and upgrade and was wanting some feedback on what people have had success with as far as upgrades go. I've heard a lot about OS bearing upgrades; how many bearings do you upgrade? The only other thing I know to do is the Carbontex drag upgrade. I'm not too concerned about the handle but suggestions there would be welcome too. I know there's been talk about the drag star as well; is that plastic? Can you upgrade that? I'd assume it's for weight savings, but it feels cheap to me. If it's not a big deal, I guess I can gt over it. I'd also be welcome to another thread where I'm sure this has been discussed, but I couldn't find it. Thanks in advance.
  17. Easy enough, thanks guys.
  18. Just bought a 50e off eBay, and depending on how I like it, I may look into the 200 series. Without starting any ticking matches, can somebody explain the 200e 5 and 7 series? What's the difference between the 2? I also think I want to stay with the 'E' series as well. I know the G series is supposedly fine, but is still a downgrade from the E series if I have y manufacturing facts straight. Again, I'm looking for helpful factual answers and not a select few's personal opinions. Thank you all.
  19. Does anybody remember this reel? I was rummaging through some storage and found this reel, new in the box. Apparently I was a tackle fiend even back in high school. Anybody have any experience with this reel? It's still brand new, never fished... Like Christmas in October...
  20. Northstar makes a great swim jig and I've also had success with the KVD swim jig in the bluegill color. It looks great and is easily available. Whatever the jig, I like using a 3.5" Yum Money Minnow trailer in the Bluegill color when I'm swimming a jig.
  21. Makes sense, thanks for clarifying RW.
  22. RW, Can you clarify what you mean by disposable? I've heard you say that a couple of times, and am curious what you mean by it? Thanks.
  23. That's what happens when you have these mass produced reels... you need to buy Brand -X. Just kidding buy couldn't resist. I had an old Shimano with the same problem, but tearing it down and reassembling with some lube fixed it. Hopefully someone with a little more mechanical expertise can chime in. Hopefully it's not a big deal; good luck.
  24. Just put in my second order with Siebert. My first order made me discover my favorite jig combo... The Big-O brush jig with a copper head and Halloween skirt looks SICK with a crawdad colored Yum Crawbug. I will also put this little tidbit in. I don't know what it's like to own my own jig making business and realize that it can be difficult to make it as a smaller company, but.... both of the orders I've placed with your company have been during these sales; I believe the other time I purchased was during a September Sale. I really like the products and believe they're high quality, but I can't stand to pay shipping when I know I could have bought a few more jigs with that cost. Thanks for the great product and just some feedback from a satisfied customer.
  25. I'd get the Shimano... Take that Gambler, for once,I'll agree with you.
