Hand Pouring Start Up
Just remember the paper masks painters use are not for fumes. Those are for particulates. If you can't do this in a well ventilated area or outside you want to invest in a Niosh approved respirator and cartridges for organic vapor.

Rain, Rain Now Snow
Here in sw VA, rain past two days, now snow. Got 7 inches in about three hours an it's still snowing. Will see if anything is open in the am but at this rate I doubt it. The New river is swollen up probably about 10 feet up from where it was. Will see what happens.

Bass And Flood Waters
When rivers and lakes flood do the bass follow the water up of stay back in their normal hideouts? I remember as a kid we would hit on of the lakes up when it flooded and tie the boat to trees on the islands that were now submerged and fish where the bank and treeline met. Caught tons of cats and carps but don't remember catching bass but that could have been because we were fishin the bottom.

Ducks And Bass
I'm an excellent fisherman? Obviously you haven't fished with me. Hahaha, no seriously I know it's difficult right now just curious if the waterfowl had any effect. And of course I forgot about the how moody the fish can be depending on the football game, silly me.

Stocking The Tackle Box
Actually I have a 14 ft runabout. Need to get a trolling motor and work some gremlins out of the engine but hope to be on it this summer. Still have to fish until then.

As you stated, you are kinda dead in the water till you get a patent pending. Market it now and poof there goes the neighborhood. Good luck and remember your friends at BR when you make it big.

Stocking The Tackle Box
Problem is that I am literally running out lures to throw. Boat is going to be useless if I don't have any lures. But it'll look real purty.

Ducks And Bass
Question for all of you... Do ducks scare away bass? I fish a very small pond (maybe 1/2 an acre). There are ducks around almost always and since they showed up the bite has died.

Memphis Shutdown At 2:00
The blizzard of 93. I heard stories about that thing the entire time I was in AL.

Rebuilding Carberator
I have ran seafoam through the motor as well as adjusting the jets. Seafoam, made it to where the motor will run fine at high speed and idle it just doesn't like to cycle up. Another important thing in this equation is that the engine sat for 5 years unused. With that information I deduced that the carbs need cleaned and rebuilt. Is this correct?

I Got A Boat!!! Q About Some Modifications!!!
Sounds about right to me. Don't forget to factor in motors, gas, batteries, and the weight of materials in the after market additions(casting deck, seats) I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but that seem right.

Stocking The Tackle Box
Okay, I am depleted, well never had much to begin with, but I am looking at tax season coming up and going ahead and planning a nice chunk of change to go to tackle. I want suggestions for a versatile box that will prepare me for what I will encounter. We will assume that I have or will know to purchase the terminal tackle that goes with any of these things. Also I request types of lures not brands as I am working on expanding and giving my self a chance to grow without necessarily picking a specific brand at the moment, remember I am still building confidence in a lot of these techniques. I caught tons of fish as a kid, nice sized ones to, but all i can remeber fishing where buzzbaits, and cranks. Here is what I have so far add as you see fit please. Tackle Senkos (green pumpkin, black, redbug) MegaStrike Cavitron Buzz baits ( white, black, chart.) Soft frogs (senko colors) Soft lizards (senko colors) Soft crawls (senko colors) Spinners ( white, black) Flukes (colors???) Spooks (whatever mimics the prey) Jigs ( siebert outdoors/backwater custom in assorted styles and colors) Cranks ( shad, crawfish, bluegill various depths) Beetle spins ( leave me alone they are fun and I have confidence in them) In-line spinners(white/silver blades) Bps plastics kits (tubes, worms, sticks) Scent/attractant (mega strike, JJ's) What do you all recommend? Primarily bank fisherman fishing the New River in Va if I get the boat running(and probably even if I don't) I will be fishing claytor lake which is a highland reservoir. Typically has very clear to murky water and stays away from stained or muddy. Fish populations in both consist of: Game fish: LMB, SMB, spotted, stripper, hybrids, white bass, white perch, black crappie, bluegill, flathead & channel cats, carp, yellow perch Prey: crawfish, alewife, bluegill, gizzard shad Let me know. My wife will appreciate me not wasting money on crap I don't really need; but you all should tell me if I am missing something I desperately need. Thanks
