  1. Nice way to start the year.
  2. Pretty amazing stuff. His attention to detail is outstanding.
  3. All this helps tons and gives me someplace to start. Thanks.
  4. I use my old jansport as well. 2 3700's in the main with my hard baits, 2 3700's with soft and terminal tackle, big zip pocket has line, and my tackle for using live bait, small zip has all my tools. It works really well for me. One suggestion someone on this forum told me was using a cd case for your spinners/ buzz baits. Haven't gotten to that point yet but will probably do that soon.
  5. Good luck with that. Hope it goes well for you.
  6. Stumbled upon this this summer and I figured I would share it with you all. I don't know all the states it is valid in but it worked for me here in VA. Hope it works for you all. https://elearning.boatus.org/
  7. Looking forward to it. Hope I can make it this year!!!
  8. Thanks, unfortunately other than a brother in law, not a lot of gun owners in our families. The reason I am asking about the Hi-point is because it is what my brother in law has an I have had a chance to fire it. Put 40 some rounds on target with no issues but, the concerns I have seen are enough to make me second guess them. I will keep digging. Thank you all for your help.
  9. Thanks guys. I have allready started looking at gun safes and the courses needed to be safe. I really appreciate all your feedback it helps a lot.
  10. Grew up in Springfield. Never saw any problems with the fish in their tanks, might just be a Savannah thing. I remember staring at those fish as a kid hoping and wishing to get one of those monsters in the wild.
  11. That I understand. The problem is what I can afford at the moment. Which is why I am asking if they are any good. I have spent the last 5-6 weeks researching firearms and I have heard good and bad about Hi-Point. I came here to try and see if I could get any more clarification and guidance. I am simply trying to find as much information as I can about this specific line of firearms so I can make the right decision for my family and me.
  12. I am looking into purchasing a pistol for home defense and am trying to wrap my brain around all of the potential hazards. The big one that comes up is that if someone was to get into my house and I was to engage them there is no way I wouldn't be firing toward my kids rooms. Unfortunately the layout of my house and entry points make it impossible for me not to. The question I have then is what caliber is safe rest to minimize the possible of a stray bullet going through drywall and into my girls rooms? From the research I have done I allready know I should be looking at a hollow point but, in terms of the big three ( 9mm, .40, and .45) which would have less possibility of collateral damage? Thanks!
  13. Thanks for the feedback guys. Looks like I will be saving up a little longer than thought.
  14. So they will work for a good bit, as long as you care for them, then you upgrade to something better? Or they are cheap crap that will break quickly and you have to replace them all the time. Because depending who you ask about the 33's the answer will drastically change.
  15. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with hi point firearms, specifically the 9 mm, looking into investing in one for home defense and hoping some of you have used them. I know they are inexpensive but are the cheap? Also I don't really want to get into the caliber discussion and home defense. I know a lot of opinions are out there and they are all good points but, I am looking at a 9mm specifically for the recoil and the fact that this would be the weapon both me and the wife would fire. I would much rather her, and me for that matter, be able to have confidence in hitting the target.
  16. Nice fish. Y'all making me want to get out there.
  17. I like it. I get to work with my hands and build really interesting things and to beat all I get ac, heat and shelter from the elements. Basically I am responsible for all the things you see and hear on stage for a theatrical show except the actors and costumes. I enjoy the teaching side as well, got a good bunch of kids eager to learn and dedicated to what they are learning and doing. Just happens to interfere with the fishing a little more than I would like.
  18. Know the feeling. Work has me swamped. I drive by the new river every day to and from work and I hear it becoming me and I just can't get to her. Going to be a long winter if it keeps up this way.
