It's been really nice here in Kansas till today it's snowing :-/ i think winter finally set in. Something that always makes me feel better is looking at a BPS catalog or walking through the fishing section at walmart the smell of plastics and the shinyness of all those crainkbaits and spinnerbaits makes me get goosebumps, then the baitmonkey comes outa hiding and empties my wallet.

I don't use YUM scents but i DO use a Scent marker by Zoom. It has a garlic scent to it and also dyes whatever you draw on a chartruese color which i found can make a difference. I've used it on spinnerbait skirts, all types of soft plastics, jigs, it rubs off on crainkbaits though.

Check the compression ? Do i need to locate a boat shop down around the area and have it checked out while i'm down there? I'm not for sure i understand? :-?

Hey guys an gals i'm looking at purchasing a Stratos Boat in the next month or so and want to make sure i check out everything. I have asked questions on everthing i can think of from the livewell pumps to the trolling motor, trailer tires and depth finders. It has an 93' Evinrude 150 that he says runs well and averages 60 mph. Also it has "hyper trim" which he explained to me since i hadn't heard of it. I have recieved pictures of the boat and plan on making a trip down in a few weeks to look at the boat in person and take a test run. If anyone has any ideas about what i should look for/ check out that would be appreciated. Being my first boat purchase from a canoe/john boat i'm a little nervous but also EXCITED hope it all works out. Thanks Matt

Hey Hinkle if it's organized or ran by ABA try their website http://www.americanbassanglers.com there you should be able to find all the information you need with a list of rules for the tournament. Also there should be a name/number of the "host" for the tournament, if so try giving them a call with any questions you have they should be able to help you out. Well i had a good time fishing ;D i ended up catching some crappie and a bass bout 14" off a crawdad colored crainkbait in the rocks . As far as the laydowns i tried a texas rig, a jig, a crankbait, and ended up with a fairly nice cat i'm guessing he was trrying so soak up some sun the log might absorb? or that was his home? Anyhow i had a great time even though i didn't catch much seen plenty of ducks and geese so next weekend i might take out the shotgun !! ;D

Kansas has been in the 60's for the past few days which is rare for this time of year. I got spring fever already and planning on heading out after lunch here in a few hours to try an catch a bass or two. There's two places i'm goin to try one is rocky not much cover thinking bout maybe a crankbait there, and the other has some big laydowns thinking a jig-n-pig, or a soft plastic texas rigged both fished S-L-O-W. Anyone else have any ideas that i could try. Will post results later! Matt

That pond looks like a GREAT place to catch some bass or spend a weekend. Anyday fishing is a good day good, that's how I look at it even if i don't catch any !! ;D

I've had luck fishin a texas rigged tube with the sinker pegged ! Also a jig n pig works well for me both fished S L O W . Try a buzzbait i've heard of people throwing a buzzbait ( actually i think there is an article in the latest BASSMASTER about it !!

I watch some of his shows on tv! I like how he uses traditional archery equipment and how he speaks his mind. It would be interesting to go on a hunt/ or even go fishing with this fellow see how squirley he is !

Went trout fishing at a local pond they stock through the winter caught all my fish on a firetiger roostertail and in an hour. Seen several albinos swimming around and caught one which was exciting!! Wondering if anyone has trout recipe's i was just going to grill em and stuff them with vege's and spices.

Been hunting hard the past 3 days staying on stand all day long. Seen 12 different bucks this one came too close and being my last day i had to let an arrow fly. He's 7 points would have been 8 but has a broke off browtine. I know he isn't as big as hydrillagorilla2's buck but for my second buck with a bow i'm tickled. He would score around 130.
