Older Bigger Or Newer Smaller?
Sounds like a 18' with a 150 would fit the bill pretty well for what you're doing and your price range.

What Gun For Concealed Carry??
I have a M&P 40c and a G23. I find myself carrying the M&P 99% of the time simply because I like it better. Find one you like and feel comfortable with, and that's what you should carry. I will be buying a Shield in 9mm soon, wanting something smaller to carry.

What Crankbaits Do You Like?
I like the KVD 1.5, good price and they work pretty well. I recently picked up some Xcaliber XCS100, at 3 for $10 I had to give them a try, and I'm liking them so far.

Kvd And Pitching Soft Plastics Question
Was he flipping grass or heavy cover? A smaller bait is usually used when punching grass or flipping heavy cover because it's easier to get through the cover, and won't get hung up as much.

Whats You Guys Think About This Baitcaster?
My buddy has two of those and loves 'em. I've used it a few times and like it, can't comment on the durability other than he fishes about 2x a week and has had them for a while with no problems.

St. Croix Mojo Bass Slop-N-Frog
I wouldn't say the Mojo slop and frog is light at all, and if it is, it does a good job at hiding it. It feels heavier than my 7'11" Veritas flippin stick. The only thing I have found the rod ok for is 3/4 oz hollow body frogs, and even then it doesn't load up that well for a good cast. I have caught alot of fish on it, and it's great at getting them out of the nasty stuff, but I don't like it because it casts horrible. I'm using a Chronarch 200E7 with 65lb Power Pro on mine.

St. Croix Mojo Bass Slop-N-Frog
I have one and I don't like it. It doesn't load up well so it doesn't cast well. Plenty of power to pull them out of the slop though. I like a 7'6" better for a frog rod anyway.
