  1. I've been fishing the Hillsborough river with good luck, I put it at river hills. You can also try lake thonotosassa, which lately has been hit or miss for me. I have fished dover park a few times too, but usually only catch small ones out there.
  2. I use 40lb braid, 5/0 twistlock hook, and a 1/8 oz weight pegged. My most productive pattern is swimming them through pads and pausing every so often to let them swim down. I have caught fish on them topwater, swimming them shallow through grass, and even in deeper water just letting them swim to the bottom. Great all around baits.
  3. Havoc grass pig on top, naked swimmer below it
  4. I have used them and caught fish on them, but I suggest giving the Bitter's naked swimmer a try. IMO they're much better than the grass pig. They have a great action even at really slow speeds. I use them all the time, and prefer them over any other swim baits, with the RI skinner dipper as my second favorite.
  5. It's all I use, except for cranking setups. Good stuff.
  6. This whole thread is a trainwreck. Saying that St Croix is the best and no one can be better is ignorant. That's your preference. Whining on an internet board when others don't agree doesn't make you right. For being an adult, you sure sound like a child.
  7. Interpreting it the way it reads, you basically just said "I never said it is better than anyone, but no one is better" The second sentence describes why this thread is pointless... you think your opinion is fact, and whether or not it really is, no one will convince you otherwise.
  8. $10 donation sent for my fish in Lee's picture. I'm glad to be a part of this and thank you Brian for posting this and everyone else that donated, it's a small amount that helps so much. For these kids and their families its worth much more.

Very sad, great shooter and from what I hear one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet.
  10. The only way I'd be ok with it is if I ordered a G and got an E. Return it.
  11. I use the Zoom horny toad hooks with great luck, I'm pretty sure they're 5/0. The main thing I used to have a problem with was waiting. I wait until I can feel the fish on before I set the hook. There are plenty of times when the fish hits it and lets go or just plain misses. Stop and let the toad drop and usually they'll hit it again. Even if they got it the first time, count before you set the hook. This fixed 99% of my missed frog and toad fish. Also, what type of toads are you using? I really like the Gambler cane toads. They have a real flat body and I rarely miss fish with them.
  12. The only form of contact I found that works is Facebook. Even then their warranty is a joke. They wanted me to send credit card info through an email ( really?) to pay the $40 or whatever it was to replace my rod, plus I would have to pay to ship it to Canada.

Sure is, waiting on an upper. Have a complete lower, mags, and 500 rounds of .223 for ya, just no upper yet.

In your price range I'd look at BCM. Get a good quality rifle first, you can always add or change parts later.

How much are you wanting to spend? The ones listed above are all lower-end brands, minus Larue and Daniel Defense which are both high-end.
  16. I watched it twice on the Outdoors channel. Love seeing how the pros fish the same areas we do.
  17. I liked it because it's the type of fishing I do. Seeing spots you've fished at Istokpoga then seeing how the pros fish them is awesome.
  18. I e-mailed Carrot Stix and they don't have a website anymore, just a facebook. They wanted me to send the rod back on my dime (to Canada at that), plus pay 39.95 "shipping and handling fee" using my credit card through E-MAIL. I bought the rod brand new and registered the warranty when I bought it, I still even have the original receipt, and it broke just a few months later. I'd have way too much money invested in a rod that will probably just break again. If you look at their facebook it's mostly people asking how to get a rod warrantied. Lesson learned, no more Carrot Stix for me.
  19. Are you fishing team tournaments or draw style?
  20. Last year he won at Okeechobee with 108-5. He can fish, that's for sure. He also did well in MLF that was on last night at Istokpoga.
  21. $34 for the rod shipped to my house, can't beat that. Hoping for the 7ft M but I'd be ok with the MH too, can't have too many rods.
  22. Ah why not, I'm in.
