  1. Sounds like a 18' with a 150 would fit the bill pretty well for what you're doing and your price range.
  2. I have a M&P 40c and a G23. I find myself carrying the M&P 99% of the time simply because I like it better. Find one you like and feel comfortable with, and that's what you should carry. I will be buying a Shield in 9mm soon, wanting something smaller to carry.
  3. I also use Chronarchs on Veritas rods, great combo no doubt.
  4. I fish mine on a owner twist lock hook with a 1/8 oz tungsten pegged
  5. I use a Trokar flippin hook
  6. I think around 10, don't use them much.
  7. I've caught some good sized one eye bass, they'll live.
  8. I don't have much for this argument, I use Shimano reels on Abu rods.
  9. It will pull it fine, but won't stop well at all.
  10. I like the KVD 1.5, good price and they work pretty well. I recently picked up some Xcaliber XCS100, at 3 for $10 I had to give them a try, and I'm liking them so far.
  11. We're fishing the accent marine tournament
  12. Was he flipping grass or heavy cover? A smaller bait is usually used when punching grass or flipping heavy cover because it's easier to get through the cover, and won't get hung up as much.
  13. My shortest rod is 6'10", my longest is 7'11".
  14. i wear long sleeves most of the time for sun protection
  15. My buddy has two of those and loves 'em. I've used it a few times and like it, can't comment on the durability other than he fishes about 2x a week and has had them for a while with no problems.
  16. I just put new bunks on my trailer, but when it comes time to replace them again I'm going to give these a look.
  17. I have been looking at the powell diesel, debating on getting it to replace my mojo bass.
  18. Bass Pro Pro Qualifier over any of those reels. Great reel for the price.
  19. I wouldn't say the Mojo slop and frog is light at all, and if it is, it does a good job at hiding it. It feels heavier than my 7'11" Veritas flippin stick. The only thing I have found the rod ok for is 3/4 oz hollow body frogs, and even then it doesn't load up that well for a good cast. I have caught alot of fish on it, and it's great at getting them out of the nasty stuff, but I don't like it because it casts horrible. I'm using a Chronarch 200E7 with 65lb Power Pro on mine.
  20. I have one and I don't like it. It doesn't load up well so it doesn't cast well. Plenty of power to pull them out of the slop though. I like a 7'6" better for a frog rod anyway.
  21. Any chance you'd share that technique? Thanks to both who posted of their experience!
  22. +1! Just knowing everything is ready to go will help you sleep better the night before.
  23. The Dicks around here have the Skeet Reese rods buy 2 get one free
