  1. I've had good luck with the spots. Not my go to, but the definitely catch fish.
  2. My go-to bait for flipping. California 420 or sprayed grass.
  3. I got 3/0 finesse hooks which I will never use so I gave them away. But I use the bag for my rain gear
  4. Evers is one of the best for sure. I thought the coverage was OK. Didn't like that it wasn't in order timewise, and they showed the same fish being caught over and over. But still glad I got to watch the classic on TV
  5. Everyone was a rookie at some point! Go for it!
  6. I use 17lb mono for squarebills
  7. Horny toads for sure. Maybe a jig or creature bait
  8. Went fishing today after work and there was a guy at the boat ramp that launched his boat and both his runners came off his trailer. Thinking nothing of it I launched and headed out. Got back to the ramp to load up and the POS took the bolts out of one of my runners on my trailer. Wish I could've caught him, I bet he'd think twice before stealing again.
  9. There's a ton of variables. I read that Randy Howell used to race boats before he started fishing, so he's a great driver and good at setup. I just thought it was funny that Ish was talking trash about Merc, but that one had no problem walking past the Yami. They're all good motors, just preference.
  10. On the subject of Merc and Yami http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1456443138001?bckey=AQ~~,AAAAp3sPnBk~,vyHNAt75Bsgo8DfIJgRAhbtCEVXS1yMH&bclid=1453359579001&bctid=1470724361001
  11. I have had bad luck with vanish. Always getting loose on the spool. Try a different line, it might have been the problem.
  12. Looking forward to it Lee. Thanks!
  13. I'd like to fish the tournament with you if possible, I'm at work now but I'll send you a message when I get off Thanks Tommy
  14. I'm debating on giving one a try. Worst that happens is I'm out the $70. I'm sure I've wasted $70 on something worse before.
  15. I am using an Extreme on my Veritas and it fits fine. I have heard of the crankbait rods having a different reel seat but I haven't got my hands on one yet to know for sure.
  16. I own a Mojo and a Veritas. The sensitivity is much better with the Veritas and it would be my choice between the two.
  17. Catching a good number of 5+ lb fish is not uncommon in Florida, especially during this time of year. If the stats really are acurate, I must be doing pretty good.
  18. Great rod for the price, probably one of the best in it's price range. I love mine.
  19. I use a snell knot for flipping with 65lb braid. I have had no issues with slipping. I use Trokar flippin hooks which have a welded eye.

I use their flippin hook and have had really good luck with them. The thing I like about them is when you hook a fish, these hooks really seem to stick them well. I've never had to use pliers so often as with these hooks.
  21. I use a 7' heavy for frogs, alot of guys like a longer rod though. Usually your best bet is to keep them up on top of the slop so a heavier rod helps for sure.
  22. Nice! The frog bite has been off for a while here now, not sure why but they just aren't hitting them like usual.
  23. You'd find me punchin mats or fishing a soft plastic real slow.
  24. I have all three of the rods you mentioned. If I could only choose one, it'd be the Mojo I think. They're all great rods, and I wouldn't hesistate to buy any of the 3 you mentioned. Dicks here has all three, so if I were you I'd try to get my hands on all three and decide which one you like best.
  25. The one here only had 2 colors of the rage craws, and only a small selection of Rage Tail in general.
