  1. The 7'3" MH should fit the bill perfectly.
  2. I use a 5.1:1 ratio reel on 3/4 oz spinnerbaits and chatterbaits exclusively
  3. Hopefully big-o can chime in on this, but i see the menace is available in the bluegill color, will this same bluegill color be offered in the rage craw line?
  4. 7ft veritas MH is exactly what you are looking for
  5. It definitely softens up. That being said, i would never use fireline of a baitcaster, i only use fireline on spinning rods, but i absolutely LOVE it on spinning rods.
  6. Just use a spinning rod. Its not cool on this board to do, but it works much better than a BC ever will.
  7. That rod will work for 1/2 oz and up spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, larger squarebills, t-rigs, jigs, and pitching, and even sizmic or horny toads. It is a VERY versatile rod.
  8. Duckett 7'6" XH XF, the perfect pitching rod in my opinion.
  9. I'm personally not a fan of the M cranking rods by st croix. They are just too wimpy for my tastes. The MHM however i think are perfect. I own the 7'8"MHM LTB and the 7'HM premier but use the 7'8"MHM most of the time, love that rod. Wasn't sure how i'd like the change from 7 to 7'8" but boy i love it now!
  10. Like others have said, fish the craw trailer. For me, i use paca chunks 90% of the time and not only do they catch fish like crazy, but are super cheap!
  11. The rattlin rapala is one of the most overlooked rattlebaits out there. Sure, you don't hear about it, and its not trendy to use, and you don't see tournament pros throwing it, but the last time i checked, the best fisherman listen to the fish...
  12. Amongst the others listed, i've had decent success with rapala rattlin raps and other rattle baits on prespawn smallies.
  13. 12 or 15lb cxx, its the only line i use for spinnerbaits. I prefer 15lb.
  14. My vote goes to the crazy cranker. You cannot go wrong with a zillion!
  15. What was Keith Poche's secret bait he talked about?
  16. I personally am not a fan of braid for cranking. It sounds to me like 12 or 15lb P-line cxx is just what you're looking for.
  17. For cranking i use 12 or 15lb P-line cxx and love it. For a rod i too would recommend a st criox but i'd go with a premier 7' MH Mod action, or if you have the money the new LTB 7'8" MH mod.
  18. Its all good dude, the OP said he was looking for a cranking reel and wanted opinions on the lews. I own the lews, and also the KVD, and gave my opinion, and also stated that the KVD was indeed more $. However i disagree strongly witth statements like "KVD reel loses", or "this reel is better", if that were the case, we'd all own the same exact set-ups. In my opinion, you won't be disappointed with either, but for me i'll take the quantum.
  19. Just throwing this out there, you can get the quatum KVD with 5.4 gear ratio off ebay brand new in the box for $210 shipped, from multiple stores. As an owner of the lews and the KVD, it pay the little extra for the KVD.
  20. I've fished both and its not even a comparison, duckett hands down. In this case it wouldn't matter what model you were trying to compare, the duckett is what you want!
