  1. I've got both and i'd go with the BB1 pro in 7.1
  2. IMO, the MH will be fine with trebles, go with the MH
  3. For my spinning outfits that don't have fireline on them I use 8lb CXX, and on my baitcasters that don't have braid on i use 20, 15, or 12lb CXX depending on application. I don't use any floro (probably the only guy here), just not a fan and its way too expensive for what it is. I love CXX because its manageable with line conditioner and literally tough as nails.
  4. The owner 5/0 twistlock flipping hook is amazingly strong, sharp, and easy to rig! I would not use an EWG hook, use something more straight shanked
  5. I fish green bay A LOT and will not use anything but straight braid. And on a calm sunny day you can EASILY see bottom in 12-14ft of water. I watch the guys around me futz with flouro and just break off too often. 90% of the water i fish besides green bay has at least 3 feet of visibility and there too i never use anything but braid and copoly, never with a leader. No one will ever convince me fish are line shy As others have stated, there might be some reasons for using a leader with braid, but i for one will never use one.
  6. I will never understand the fascination with abu, especially the rods. I'm just happy most people are coming around and not wasting their hard earned money on these products.
  7. I would go with 50lb suffix performance braid if you'll be using this line for any topwater techniques, if not i'd go with white 50lb 832. Braid color does not matter, although everyone on this board will tell you it does.
  8. I personally would not go with either Shimano, of that list i'd take the curado or the Energy. If i was spending $160 i'd get either a lews BB1HZ(instant reverse) or a daiwa Tatula. Good Luck!
  9. You can get any gear ratio BB-1 besides 5.1:1 in instant anti reverse. They also have models that don't feature instant anti reverse in the BB-1 series.
  10. 10lb and 14lb original fireline is the only "braid" or "fused" line i use on spinning reels. I won't however use it on anything but spinning reels. It handles amazingly well, and has hands down beaten every braid I've tried to use on spinning reels.
  11. Always thread
  12. Their swim jigs rock. Nice barb keeper and very stout 5/0 hook.
  13. Yes, and they are a beast of a reel.
  14. Go with the 734, plenty of tip for throwing 3/8oz spinnerbaits, but will handle larger baits as well.
  15. the 4x4 swim jigs are very nice, better hook than the dirty jigs and a better keeper.
  16. 65lb braid, Heavy action, and smoke. Oh, and forget the flouro, just go straight braid.
  17. lol, yes, drop shots are legal in all 50 states
  18. I prefer the handle/reel seat on the ice series, and i also prefer the blank and upgraded guides the white ice series have. Some do like the magics over the ice, but i am not one of them, both are great rods though.
  19. I have both, and can say for the extra $40, go with the white ice series. IMO, its totally worth it.
  20. I punch the same stuff you do with only micros and never had an issue. As far as the fitzgeralds, i've never used them either, but i too am intrigued and would like another punch rod to go with my duckett 7'6" XH
  21. Daiwa Zillion, am i really the only one??
