  1. Bearing numbers dont do much, its that they are placed where they count. Cent brakes, and a solid foundation is all you need.
  2. Like Hootie, I set mine by pulling line by hand. You can also set it by hooking the line to something and pulling up on the rod to see when the line starts to peel. Most of the time with baitcast equip your gonna set it so the rod doesnt snap. If you think about it, the line isnt soo much the variable since if you use 17lb test, most drags arent that powerful.
  3. Im a YoZuri fan, but not for topwater. I still use good ole Trilene.
  4. Shes a keeper. Shes my record largemouth! Lol.
  5. Some braids have been made with some kind of sinking aspect, but I dont hear anything good about their performance. If you want braid to sink, use some weight.
  6. I fish tourneys, and have taken my rigs down to just 6. You can cover all you need with 6, and if you have to tie something on, well, a few seconds is no big deal once in a while. If it helps, this is what Ive set my stuff up for. 1. Topwater(spook) with 10lb mono. 2. Swimbait/plastic frogs with 50lb Power Pro. 3. worms/deep plastic presentation with 20lb YoZuri. 4. Cranks with 12lb YoZuri. 5. Flipping/pitching 65lb braid. 6. Spinnerbaits with 40lb braid. The only other thing that you may want to cover if needed is a light finesse setup using a spinning reel.
  7. When you go out fishing for the day, the day of your wifes best friends wedding, in another state, and still make it in time to shower, change, and get to the place on time. Again, thanks Scott, lol.
  8. When your wife convinces you to do engagement photos by saying we are going to take them at Holiday Park while fishing. Yet another true story.
  9. Almost forgot, another true story. When your wife is awesome enough to let you have your whole wedding at the Fishing Hall of Fame, next to a BPS.
  10. Bwahahahahahaha, that made me chuckle.
  11. Use it for a while, and when your ready, send it to DVT for a crankshaft bearing, carbontex drag, and a supertune, you wont be disappointed. You made a good choice for years of great service. Dont let the haters spoil your purchase.
  12. I personally dont go for the whole balance thing because once your fishing, balance is out of the question when reeling in lures unless you are fishing slow bottom techniques, then I would be using a spinning rig. Anyway, what feels better in your hands is gonna make fishing more comfortable. To me worrying about 2oz difference is soo minimal its pointless. Just my opinion. Balance the action and power of the rod to the type of fishing you are going to be using the reel for, and make sure the reel is going to perform proper for the style of fishing you are going to do.
  13. Your wife catches you scoping out every body of water you may pass by while driving, and she says to you "really? Is that all you think about?". True story.
  14. Both good reels. The new G series Citica is not that bad. The Abu is going to feel alot smoother than the Citica, but an easy crankshaft bearing upgrade will fix that. The Revo S gets very high reviews due to its pricepoint. Longevity, and ease of use, I would go with the Shimano product, especially in the brake dept. What else is nice is that you get extra brake tabs, oil, and the reel tool. Shimano knows how to treat their customers.
  15. RM said it. You really cant go wrong with the Chronarc, or any Shimano for that matter. Enjoy it, its an amazing reel.
  16. Cant go wrong with YoZuri, until they somehow mess that up by making it better.
  17. just messin. I know they arent the same. Its like the Curado/Chronarch, right, lol.
  18. Ive bought a few reels used, no complaints, then again they are Shimanos. In all seriousness, as long as you see a picture of what the outside looks like, it can give you a general idea of how well the person takes care of their equipment.
  19. I have owned one. Great reel. Best bang for the buck. This is where the Pure Fishing reels should be marked at. You wont be disappointed at this reel. It has dual braking system, and a smooth retrieve. No need to pay the $ for an Abu STX, its pretty much the same thing.
  20. Maybe it helps "cold starts" for winter fishing, lol.
  21. No. As a matter of fact I spray my reel with it when Im done fishing, and wipe it with a cloth to clean it.
