Alright now, this is gonna be one of my longer posts, esp. the pictures because it deserves what it is.....Me and Uglystick Jim put in a 12 hour day today......It never gets old.....I had a good feeling about today before we rolled out, something cool was gonna happen, didn't know exactly what it was gonna be, but just felt something.....So we started out at 6:30am and I told Jim, let's hit my usual 1st spot........Couple casts in....BAM!!...I nail a nice Smallie and it comes unglued....I don't understand is with me lately?.....smh........continuing forward I show Jim a secret bait and 1st cast....BAM!!....1st chunk of the day..... .....we drift a little down and Jim yells HE'S ON!! I told him don't horse him in, play the fish. and asks me to net him...After a nice fight,Finally put Jim on to his best smallie of the year.....this was all I wanted to do is see him catch something nice all day.....and he started out great!!.... We both continue the day with a few more fish , bass, snot rockets and perch......bite was defiantely on plastics all day long..... We hit this one weed edge and I have a good feeling when my line gets a slight bump, I set the hook, and this bruiser comes flying out of the water...... The day was shaping up to be pretty decent for the both of us.........we both caught fish......time for some lunch.....Mmmmmmmmmmm.......Grilled Chicken Cutlets with Lettuce,Tomato, and Red Onions on Fresh Semolina Bread with Salt Pepper, and Oregano, red wine vinegar and olive oil, and a lemon squeezed over the cutlets after I grilled them.....The Holy MotherClucker sandwich is what I call it.... Jim hooks into another nice one later in the day......Ugly stick Jim gets it done!!! So we end up going around this one point ad all day I've been saying to Jim about how I've seen bears so many times this year, and this is time for them to come out more often, and all this bear talk, we're fishing and I look to my left and there he is!.........EL OSO GRANDE!!!!!!....I love these animals so much. They are so incredible to see, with their fluffy, shiny black fur and beautiful face....To see them with your own eyes and think people kill these just for fun breaks my heart......They are one of God's most beatutiful creation's in this world..He just sat there on his butt , not one bit afraid of us and let us get very close to him....like probably @ 50 feet or so(we were in the boat off shore and had the gas motor ready in case of an emergency)...We just sat there quietly and watched him as he just looked at us probably thinking, "I wish these guys would just go back to fishing and leave me alone, this isn't the zoo!!!".......AFter about 15 minutes or so he wandered off slowly and we returned to fishing again, I know for me and Jim, was the icing on the cake to a beautiful day on the water...Here's a few pics we snapped...I did video also but not going to load it up here.....

Had a nice time on the water today fishing a local tournament with my buddy Dan today...Bite was kinda tough for a perfect fall morning.Unfortunately bluebird skies killed it after 9:00am..Me and Dan found them finally through after hitting our usual spots and no luck....Most fish were on rocks, and not relating to weedlines........I don't feel too bad considering alot of the other guys didn't do much at all.....It was a tougher bite than expected for this time of the year but we managed a few over the rails......I ended up coming in second place today....Here's one of the better ones....and also a tape measure shot just to show sometimes pix make the fish smaller than it really is....Oh yeah, fall is coming soon because the leaves are starting to pop....In about 2 weeks should be ablaze...Here's a few plus some scenery....Sorry no lunch pics today.....Thanks..... So I've been betting the old --eroo the last few days at the river so I decided to do some navigation to a spot i haven't fished in @ 20 years.....Started out the morning with a few cookie cutters and then this ....3.5# on a spinnerbait......fished all morning until lunchtime and ended up with 11 bass and one sunny that got speared by my spinnerbait......Bait was EVERYWHERE this morning and I was ripping my spinnerbait right through huge schools hoping to nail a slob that was pushing them to the surface, but struck out with that idea...I did however get to see exactly what they are feeding on(which was no surprise)....judging from what I saw all over the lake, this warming trend all week should help the fishing by the weekend!!..self pics suck, we all know that....makes the fish so much smaller looking....this bass was a fat long fish... .....When there is no one else there to take a picture, a selfie is the only option.....Here's a few from this am.... Yeah the river has cleaned up quite a bit......There are MONSTERS in there over 40"....I've seen them cruising.....and the Smallmouth fishery the Passaic offers is way better than when I grew up nearby.....On the days I don't go to the reservoirs for bass and walleye, I hit the river which is like 10 min. from where I live...Thanks for your comment....Have a nice weekend!!!

Headed out for a day on the water this morning....started out as usual pretty good then fish got lockjaw......but in any case, a great day on the water ...Cold front ,late last night killed it....but made the best of it....Today was cold and long...and I have windburn on my face to boot!!!.......Thankful the sandwich I made for us saved the day...It was delicious!!!!....Here's a few Bonus lunch pic..... Fresh Roasted Bistro Turkey, Domestic Swiss Cheese, Romaine Lettuce, Sliced Plum Tomatoes, Sliced Red Onions, Salt, Montreal Pepper Seasoning, Oregano and smeared with Hellman's Mayo....only the best!! You can get a jon boat or a 14-16 ft. V very cheap off craigslist......In my area I've seen them, boat motors AND trailer for under 1000......I'm in a similar situation, but I live in an apt. complex and have nowhere to keep it....but the marinas I found out will let you keep it there for 35.00/month.....next yr springtime,I'll have my boat finally

Mine too!!!...The next 2 months are the best weather wise,fishing wise and scenery wise with the fall foliage on the reservoirs.....and good chance to see wildlife like bears,eagles,deer,foxes where I fish......Thanks for responding!!!....FISH ON(ALWAYS!!)

Ot's funny because he asked me about fishing in NJ so all I had to do is whip out my phone and start showing him pix I have of my big fish...He was so cool.......And we talked about everythin fishing and non-fishing.....Life in general and working in and outside of the business.....Gave me some great ideas to think about....

Today I got to meet and talk bass fishing one on one with Skeet Reese - Professional Angler at the new Dick's Sporting Goods in S. Plainfield, NJ today.....If anyone I have ever met is a down to earth, humble man , Mr. Reese is that person....We talked about his childhood and growing up fishing w/ his dad and also I showed him some pics on my phone of fish I have caught and gave him the inside scoop on Muskie and Bass fishing in NJ, which he was interested in knowing about....The most valuable tip he gave me was big baits means big fish..... He was so nice and patient and it was a meeting I will always remember...Thank you for a pleasant experience Mr. Reese and have a nice flight home tonight.

Well we had a major nasty storm last night here in Northern NJ that was like no other in recent months...The lightning was something you would see in New Mexico...Flashes across the sky and big bolts that made you shivver....So I decided to hit the water with Dan this morning and we figured it was gonna be on fire or dead zone..Well, number wise, we caught alot of fish...ANd a multii species day is always good on top of things.....Action started first thing this morning, just as the lights came on, I had three over the rails before Dan hooked up....Nailed a bunch of Smallmouth on some new lures in my box..........We kept it moving and I fished deep (successfully) while Dan tried tubes on the bank(unsuccessfully)...Seems like the fall bite is picking up as all fish were hitting fast moving reaction baits all day for me....I ended up with @ 15 total and Dan got just the one nice Smallie and one Larry worth anything.....Looking forward to the next few weeks when the water cools just a bit more and the fish go into overdrive mode....Here's a few from today to prove it happenned.... Totally know 1st hand what a crazy woman can do and mess up your life while completely innocent.....trust me it sucks..............Sorry to hear about your situation....glad i know i am not alone.....not the same but similar situation involving a crazy woman.....SUCKS....I feel for you!!

Hey Dwight, I have a LTB 70MXF that I use for drip shot and it is excellent rod...Harvey at St. Croix recommended it to me and promised me it would be my new fav rod(I have @ 10 St. Croix Avids and Legend Elites already).....He was right....I cannot wait to hit the fall and start catching some pigs w/ this rod....So far all the 3 pounders felt awesome, I can only imagine the next few weeks of NJ fall fishing coming up how great this rod is going to be....I have it matched up w/ a Quantum Smoke SL25 reel w/ 8 lb Trilene XL and a Flouro leader.....It already has become my new fav....I was throwing a LC Sammy the other day and it cast a MILE!!!!.......Have a great weekend!!!

Just got in from a day out....Finally had a decent day compared to late.......Ended up w/ @ 15 total....stopped taking pix when it was raining.....Bite was better than all my recent trips...got a couple small footballs....fish were definately feeding and fat bellies.......seems they wanted reaction baits.......Most nailed in 8-12 FOW......I regained SOME of my confidence back , having this year being pretty cr*ppy for me......I think the next few weeks will be pretty decent....water definately cooled down a bit as well ....Fall fishing feedbags should be starting very shortly....Is summer really gone already?.....Here's a few from today to show it happenned....Oh yeah, I almost forgot....GO G-MEN!!!!

Does anyone know what brand frog this is?....The cap is missing but it said XCalibur on it....However, Xcalibur does not make frogs....Any help appreciated
