  1. That is some really nice looking furniture!
  2. I run 87. I have heard that if you OB manual says to run 87 and you run premium (91), you can actaully gum up your motor.
  3. I switched to a foot controled last year and would never go back to a hand controlled TM. Foot controlled TM allows you to use the trolling motor while still allowing you to fish. Buy the foot controlled TM!
  4. WOW, that really sounds like a load of crap! Here in Nebraska, we get to print them right away, its a great way to buy my permit.
  5. Just wondering what you guys use to sharpen your hooks. I have heard that the rapala hook sharpener sucks. Any suggestions for me?
  6. What do you print your decals on? What type of vinyl works best/lasts the longest to put on a boat. Also where can I buy a roll of it? How much am I look at cost wise?
  7. Just got done fishing Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft for the first time last saturday. I am now a true believer of the stuff. Its handled great!!!
  8. No, I don't. I have had the boat since last april. I probably should change them out. What do you guys suggest for plugs? Also what do I need to gap them to? The motor is an '83 50hp Merc. As far as the motor goes, I'm gonna take it out on saturday and run it for a while. After I'm done I will drain the LU oil and check for water, if there is none, I will refill with new be on my way, if there is water, its off to the mechanics shop.
  9. WELCOME!!!! You found the best bass site on the web!
  10. People who honestly think they are hot "crap", when in reality they are just "crap".
  11. Yes a lizzard will work, but what I have found most effective and almost impossible to fish it wrong is a weighless wacky rigged senko (see link below pics of a senko). I like the color, watermelon red the best. To wacky rig it, just take a size 2/0-4/0 hook and stick it right through the middle of the senko so there are even amounts on each side of the hook. Then just throw it out and let it fall. Watch the line for twitches, or quick movements. Usually the bass will hit it on its initial fall. If not, I like to jig it a couple of times. If nothing, reel in and throw again. This can be a very effective technique. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=58909&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults
  12. 53,422.37 Senkos to be exact (@ 5.99 per pack (10) from BPS & not counting sales tax). *Sorry, you asked and I'm really bored at work
  13. LOL, I totally respect and value your opinion!! Way2Slow says its good, its good enough for me. Again, Thanks for all the help!!!
  14. Yeah, I'm going to call tomorrow to have them take a look at it. I just know there is something wrong, it never did it all (last) summer until the last time I WAS gonna go take it out. That is when I noticed it. Lets just say that fishing trip was ended before it even thought about getting started. I'll keep you guys posted as to what was the real problem with the oil leak. Thanks for all the advice!!!
  15. Posted by: Way2slow Posted on: Today at 7:04pm It doesn't have oil injection, and I usually run about 45-50:1 with gas/oil. Posted by: Way2slow Posted on: Today at 7:04pm LOL, that is pry my problem, 90% of my lakes I fish are "no wake" lakes. I'm sorry, I didn't say this earlier, I do store it in a heated warehouse over the winter. Would it still be wise to store the motor trimmed down when I store it outside in the summer?
  16. Used power pro the last two years, but this year I'm using Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft this year. I guess I have to find out what everyone has been talking up so much.
  17. First off, WELCOME!!!! Second, that line is probably no good. I would replace it. It's a low cost to pay ($5-9 for 300yds of mono) for some peace of mind that you have good line that you can trust.
  18. I agree as well. I need to pry have it checked out. I couldn't believe what the mechanic said. One more question though. Why would the oil be two completely different colors? The LU oil looked very normal and far from that black/brown color dripping out of the prop. Also there were no signs of water in the LU when I drained it. The total oil lost was pry <1oz. Thanks again!
  19. I'm wondering how you do that? :-?
  20. I use palomer knot. Its great and I've never had failed knot with it. As far as how to tie it. Just google it and I'm sure there will be a lot details and pics.
  21. I posted this a few months ago, but it still has me concerned. The motor has not been in the water since I noticed the problem. Its an '83 50hp Merc. I pulled the LU oil and it was goldish color with no water, while the stuff leaking out of the prop is black/dark brown. I called an OB mechanic today and told him what was going on. I told him I thought it was a bad prop seal. He said right away that since each "substance" was of different color that I have nothing to worry about. Its just caused by the exhaust of a 2-stroke motor. He suggested that there was nothing wrong at all. Also he said that the first time I go out, when I'm done, check the LU oil to make sure there is no water. That's it. Just wondering what you guys suggest as to what would cause it to look like this. I always trim it down to drain the water when I'm done each time, but then trim it up and add my transom saver to trailer it. Its stored covered (boat only) outside with the motor trimmed up. When it rains could water collect in the prop and mix with old exhaust to cause this? Thanks!
  22. I'm bet/gaurantee that the oil changes are more than my $350 per month payment for my '04 F-150. I can't even imagine what parts cost for that thing. Hey what speed did she top out for ya? (If its able to "top" out, it could just keep gain speed forever)
  23. Redline, if you really want a sweet ride, you need to look at the Merkur Scorpio. Oh wow, its something special. HA HA I would bet and say that no one has even heard of it. Oh well, it was 15 yrs old with 160k and still would do 135mph. OH WOW That car was freaking cool!!! I'm speechless. I bet it was a pure joy to drive!
  24. I like the Saleen S7. I hear that you get so much downforce at 160mph+, you would be able to drive upside down, if there was a tunnel that allowed. What about the Ferrari Enzo? Those are cool. I also think that you get matching luggage with it. 8-)
  25. Yup, me too, since I did work there for about 4 months during college. I can relate. As a "lodge associate" you get stretched way too thin. Yes, I know a lot about fishing and I think that I gave pretty good advice on bass fishing. But someone wanting to get really technical with all the features of a framed backpack or get some really specific info on muzzleloaders, or what parts they need for their Yakama roof rack for their vehicle, I couldn't give. Yes, I have been hiking and have shot a muzzleloader, many times, but its not my specialization. Also, I can attest to their insane budget on payroll. They put managers on a VERY short leash with payroll. They only get so much money to spend on it and when its gone, its gone, which equals no service. There were many times I was working either by myself trying to hold down all the departments. If that isn't crazy, if I were to sell a firearm, boom there goes 20-30 minutes with filling all the paperwork and walking the gun out the door. 20-30 minutes of having NO ONE in the lodge. Zilch, none, nada. It's just insane and that was one of the main reasons that I quit. I love it when people need help with fishing, we would talk fishing for a long time and it was nice to help them, but I hated it when people wanted specific answers to other questions and I just simply could not give it to them. If they are serious about getting better help and service, they need to pay their employees a lot more. The saying "you get what you pay for" does not hit home harder then when it applies to employees.
