  1. Welcome to the best Bass Resource site on the net!
  2. YEAH!!! My St. Croix Legend Came in today!!!! Took only 5 days (also had a weekend in there) from the time I placed the order until this wonderful rod was sitting at my door! Very impressed with Reed's Sporting Goods!!!
  3. 100+, all on a wacky watermelon red trick stick. It was the first summer that I started using a "senko" type bait. I think on that paticular day the fish were just as excited to see that new bait as I was!!! *I think the larget bass may have hit 2lbs, but none-the-less it was a riot all day!!!
  4. Yep. I think the sale is over! They are now only 20% off unless you buy 3 or more. Oh boy, I'm glad I didn't wait, the rod I purchased isn't even available anymore!
  5. Posted by: dsaavedra Posted on: Today at 4:19pm You, along with just about everyone else on this message board! ;D ;D For me, I ordered a TBC66MF. I wish it was the new Legend series with the split grip, but for $132 instead of $220, I can live without it.
  6. I favorite has to be my St. Croix AC66MHF. But I have never fished a loomis yet, so i guess that could change someday from what I hear about loomis rods.
  7. I used them once. They are alright for the money. They kept me dry all day. They are really bulky though. If you really want to get serious about rain gear. Get some Gor-Tex. But be ready to shell out some serious cash. Its kinda pricey.
  8. Matt, All is well. Thanks for making your point a little more clear to me. I definately see your point about the beat-downs, I guess I just read into it a little too much. No hard feelings. I guess that thing that kinda rubbed me the wrong way, was that Falcon was taking shots at Dr. Tom Osborne, someone had to defend T.O. Whether or not you agree with Tom Osborne, you have to respect what he has done at Nebraska and for college football.
  9. OK, I know that Kansas is having a great year, and put a lickin' on my sorry excuse for a husker Defense, but I couldn't let this one slide. Posted by: MALTESE FALCON Posted on: Nov 3rd, 2007, 6:42pm That couldn't be further from the truth. Dr. Tom Osborne is a true class act. He is a honest, hard working, man of excellent character. "If" he did indeed run up the score, it was because our '95 husker team is considered one of, if not the best team in all of college football. Their offense averaged 394 rushing yards per game and the defense was one of the best NU has ever seen. Also with running up the score, one answer to that. Get a better defense. When you hear KU beat Nebraska 76-38, you don't hear everyone in husker nation claiming that KU ran up the score. And if they did, who cares, they can. They want to make a name for themselves nationally. What you hear from Husker Nation is that our defense is terrible, we don't blame it on the other team. Posted by: Matt Fly Posted on: Nov 3rd, 2007, 5:10pm Ok, one more thing. I can't believe that you are taking shots at Nebraska's fans. Several national sports writers has stated that NU has some of the best fans in the sport. There have been several times over the years when NU has lost a home game and gave the opposing team a standing ovation for their great efforts that day! I'm hinting at when Texas came up to lincoln a few years ago and won.
  10. I started using Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft this year, and I really like it. I'll keep using it until I find something better.
  11. I don't really know what to say, I in my experience I have returned two items (rod once and then a reel at a different time). Granted I took them back to the store and did not return them through the mail. I have had no troubles at all with BPS, great customer service in my experiences. Good luck with your returns.
  12. I stand corrected. my mistake. :-[ Thanks, no more confusion here. Now, If I could just find someone to teach me how to read.
  13. Delo's has all three 200 models in the same gear ratio, so the only difference is the size of the spool and IPT? Thanks for the help!
  14. Sam, that is some really great advice. You are so right about sports in college. I played basketball for the first year in college and it was a great experience, but it was all day, every day sport. I ended up not playing after that first year and took a job, and i'm finishing school this december with a BS in Maketing. College has been very challenging, but my experience has been very rewarding. I couldn't agree more. But, getting a degree is never a waste of money. It is their own fault for only making $12/hr right out of college. They don't have to take that job, and they shouldn't, as they are worth much more than that with their degree. With the degree they have an edge up on the competition, and ultimately will be paid accordingly.
  15. I'm looking at the Shimano Citica with a gear ratio of 6.2:1. What is the difference between the CI200D, CI200DPV, and the CI200DSV? I noticed that they both have the same number of bearings. Does it have something to do with the size of the spool? I need some help, as I am now really confused. :-/
  16. Zebco 33 combo. I used to catch all kinds of fish with it.
  17. Ok, last sunday I wasn't doing anything and instead of just sitting around wasting the day away, I decided to head over to Bass Pro Shops to see what I could find. Alright, I got into BPS and started walking up and down the asiles. I checked out a few close-out st. criox avids. but decided against, didn't really have what I wanted left on the shelf. Then I strolled over to the reel counter, spun a few reels, but nothing really caught my fancy. Then, on my way out I managed to survive the asiles of "essentials". I looked at, senkos, crankbaits, spinnerbait, etc. with not one of those items staying in my hand. As I walked past the cashier without stopping, that is when it hit me. This was the first time that I had ever been in BPS and walked out with nothing. It was a very strange feeling. It was a feeling of sadness, and a little bit of shame and embarassment. :-[ I must have been feeling a little under the weather or something. I guess there is a first time for everything. Anyone else ever walk out of BPS empty handed?
  18. I had a 2000 Mustang GT. Also something to think about is the "fun to drive" factor. The pontiac does not offer a manual tranny. Maybe that doesn't matter to you, but let me tell you, I had a blast with my '00 GT 5-speed. Your right on about the abundance of aftermarket parts. Go with the FORD He was my pony.
  19. Yes, he sure did! A very large contract as a matter of fact. A 5 year deal, worth something like 8 million (not for sure on the $ amount). And you want to know what it was based on, our win over Nevada. Yes I said Nevada. Which was our first game. Nevada is horrible. The reason for the extension was that they have seen "progress" with our football team. HA! And who gave him the contract extension? I'm glad you asked. Yup, you guessed it, Steve Peterson. Our former Athletic Director, which his contract was just extended this past July for 5 year worth over $2 million. Which has to be paid. All I can say is: WELCOME BACK TOM OSBORNE!!! GO HUSKERS
  20. University of Nebraska's Athletic Director, Steve Peterson, was Fired today!!!! I could not be more happy. Actually I think I just saw the parade going by celebrating his departure. What was allowed to happen to our football program was just plain embarassing!!!! :-[ Rumor has it that Head Coach Callahan is next. THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!!!
  21. Here in Nebraska it's $20 per year. Good from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31
  22. I think that with the cheap shades, the polarization is just a film that they just slap over the outer lens. Now with high end sunglasses, the polarization is built into the lens. I have heard this once and don't know if its true. Either way, I have a pair of Maui Jims for fishing and they are the best sunglasses I have ever owned. PERIOD. I had a pair of oakleys, they were good but I like the Maui's a lot better. As soon as you either try or buy a pair of quality sunglasses, you will never want anything else.
  23. I'm taking a Scuba diving class in college and we just had our first scuba dive. Well it was kinda a scuba dive. It was in the pool, but we were underwater at 10-15ft for about 10 minutes. It was one of the coolest experiences I have done. Anyone else here scuba dive or have dived before?
