Alltel
I have had Alltel ever since I got a cell phone. (9 years). I love the service and my plan is good too. No complaints here. I wonder what will happen when it switches over to Verizon.

The Stock Thread
WOW, this is quite a discussion. (this is the first time I've read this thread). As I read this, the FDIC Insurance comes up a few times. In my opinion, FDIC is the biggest half-truth out there. Sure, it used to say that your bank account was covered up to $100,000, now $250,000, but that is only half the truth. I see it every day. The FDIC sign in the bank says that I'm only covered up to $250,000, so that's all I can put in that bank. Take a "typical" family for example. Mom, Dad and two children (Jack & Jill). They could easily have their money in their accounts Insured at ONE bank for $2.5 Million.. More, if you get a little more creative. This is how one would title each account to get your money covered. Mom & Dad with a Joint account: Insured for $500,000. ($250k for each owner of the account) Mom POD (pay on death) Dad: Insured for $250,000 ($250,000 per owner (Mom) per beneficiary (Dad) Dad POD Mom: Insured for $250,000 ($250,000 per owner (Dad) per beneficiary (Dad) Mom & Dad POD Jack & Jill Insured for $1,000,000 ($250,000 per owner (Mom & Dad) per beneficiary (Jack & Jill) Each owner has two qualified beneficiaries at $500,000 x two owners = $1 million. Mom (single account) Insured for $250,000 Dad (single account) Insured for $250,000 So that brings your total coverage at ONE bank to $2,500,000. Now, it's possible to increase this insured limit, but this is just a generic outline showing that the insurance from the FDIC is more that what's on the sign. P.S. If you are lucky enough to have more cash, Do this at at couple of other banks and you now have a LOT of Insurance. No one has ever lost one penny of FDIC Insured money when a bank fails.

Cardboard shipping tubes, where to get one?
Go to a floor covering store/warehouse and get their old carpet tubes. I guessing that they have a lot of them just laying around. They are at least 12ft long, Then just cut to size. Just my $.02

Why 10 - 2?
I agree with LBH 100%. After reading about the "dark side" here, I gave it a shot one night. That night I caught what will probably be my second biggest bass of the year (unless I catch a bigger one this fall, but not likely). I'd say the odds are better at night, you just have to go fishing at night to get those odds.

Bank Question
With REAL bought 20k shares of WAMU this morning for $1.70 each holding it until tomorrow and I am going to dump it as the market opens. Risky, don't try this at home folks! Hopefully, I can buy that duck boat, but my wife is going to make me buy something for the remodeling of the house!!! > That takes some brass, dude! But if you sold right away, you make some nice bank! Congrats

Brake dust!!!
10 to 1 says you have a Ford. I had a '04 F-150 and the stock brake pads were terrible! The brake dust was something else!!! > Just upgrade your brakes to something a little more higher end and bye-bye brake dust.

Nebraska Hogs! pics
Although I'd like to say they were 6 or 7, our digital scales we used were just tested (with dumbbells) and they were right on. :-? Oh well, I know that there are bigger bass in that lake. Now if I can just trick a few more into bitting.

Nebraska Hogs! pics
Last Sunday, I was back in my hometown in northeast Nebraska to visit the family. My brother had just bought a new (used) jon boat, and he wanted some help with putting in a floor with carpet and mounting the seats. On Saturday afternoon we were fixing up the boat. When we finished, we just "had" to try it out. My brother got permission to fish a local sandpit and were were planning on going out at 5am the next day (Sunday). We were a little late getting out to the lake, the captian of this new boat was a little sleepy at 5am, oh well, he will learn. He was just lucky it was his boat, or I would have left him at home ;D This was the maiden voyage of this boat for both of us. We have never fished this lake before in a boat, but my brother Braxton had fished it from once the shore once two years ago. The day was unreal! Now you have to keep in mind that we are less than 60 miles south of South Dakota, so we are pretty far north, thus a huge bass is not the same as you California folk. Together we both caught 20 bass in 3 hours. 10 of them were over 4lbs. Our 5 Bass Limit for the day was 24lbs 6oz. That is an awesome day in Nebraska!!! By far the best day either one of us had fishing in this state. The top 2 fish caugh were a 5lb 7oz (my brother) and 5lb 2oz (me) All our bass were caught on ***. Braxton's Bass was caught on a Big Boy Brush Bug, Watermelonseed Chartail, T-rigged 5lb 7oz Here is my bass. Caugh on Baby Brush Bug, Blue Swril, T-rigged Tipped the scales at 5lb 2oz, But I think that it looks bigger than my Brothers! 8-) This was the second bass of the day and my first. When I set the hook, the word that came out of my mouth was " Pig...PIG!!!" My brother and I were laughing all day about that little phrase. I was so stoaked, bass like these just don't get caught in Nebraska that often. (Its about half our state record 10lb 11oz, to give you some perspective) Excuse the bad photo, the was taken directly into the sun. All in all, an unbelievable day on the water!!! 8-)

Night Fishing
I am also new to night fishing. I gave it a go last saturday night. I was a good number of bass when at 12:33am I hooked into a 19" LM Bass. I didn't have a scale, but I guessing he was about 4 1/2 lbs. I caught it on a t-rigged brush hog-june bug color. It was awesome catching that bass at night. Also, I feel that a night you can "feel" more bites. Since you can't use your sight, your sense of touch gets heightened. You can bet that I will be on the lake more during the night.
