Fishing Okoboji, Iowa ***VIDEO***
We just just got back from fishing in northern Iowa at West Lake Okoboji. The fishing was tough and bass were few and far between. In the 2 1/2 days that were were there we boated about 50 Bass between the three of us (My dad, brother and I). We found that the most productive lures were C-rigged brush hogs and jigs. Most of the fish that we caugh were in about 10-15 feet of water. The water temp was 61-62 degrees and each day the wind was blowing about 10-20mph. Here is the Video (8min 49s) http://www.snapdrive.net/files/434954/Okoboji%202007%20Final%20Cut.wmv

My Lake Fork Video (w/Tom Redington)
I do save often but, OMG!!! WMM really gets under my skin in a bad way. There had to be a half a dozen time where "Windows Movie Maker has encountered an error and must shut down" or something like that. Then it asks if you want to "send an error report?" Ok, where does this error report go??? Who sees it?? Will anything actually be done to fix it??? Whatever I guess. I think that I am starting to believe those "Hello, I'm a Mac. And I'm a PC" commercials. I'm starting to lean towards buying a Mac for my next computer. From what I have heard, iMovie is really easy to use and produces pretty decent work. Thanks for the advice. I have the Fujifilm Finepix S700. The mic is kinda in a weird spot (right on the top next to the flash). I'll see it I can figure something out for it because the wind noise is really annoying. Kyle

My Lake Fork Video (w/Tom Redington)
LBH, Thanks for editing hint. I'm just getting started with the whole video thing and I'm always looking for advice to help make it better. I wish I could just take out the wind noise and leave the voice, but for now I am stuck using Windows Movie Maker. It not the best editing software but it gets the job done. RW Husker, I will be making another bass video next week when we go to Okoboji and I will make sure that I get footage with my husker gear on. GO BIG RED! Kyle

My Lake Fork Video (w/Tom Redington)
That was actually the only day I didn't wear Husker RED. It figures that the next day when I was showing the NU Pride it was rainy and the fish got lock-jaw (not great conditions for putting together a fishing video). Also, my brother, happens to be a HUGE Texas Longhorns fan (a rare breed in the great state of Nebraska and if convicted, he will be facing 30 years to life for such a crime) so he felt right at home there. LOL, we had a good time with that. It was totally off-the-cuff. I "interviewed" my brother first then we switched and I saw Tom walking up to the boat and make a comment about how we were trying to put him on some good fish. He had no idea that we were filming at first, until my brother mentioned something like "Yup, he is our first customer of the year" and Tom didn't even skip a beat and he played right along with the bit. It was great.

My Lake Fork Video (w/Tom Redington)
Here is my video of my brother (Braxton), me (Kyle, the one wearing the hat), and Pro Bass guide Tom Redington on lake Fork the first week of May. I would have had it done sooner but i've been busy with college. This is my first video, so let me know what you think so I can get better at it. Click on the link below, select full screen and Enjoy!!! http://www.snapdrive.net/files/434954/Lake%20Fork%202.wmv

Uploading a Fishing Video---Need Help!
Hey, I am wondering how you guys get your videos on here. I tried using a number of video webhosting sites (vidilife, google, youtube) and everytime I upload it, it loses a LOT of quality. Just wondering how you guys post video on here without sacrificing quality. Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks, Kyle

Post a picture of your tacklebox!!!!!!!!!!!!
Natural, that is just plain SICK!!! (in a good way ) I'm speechless

Are you surprised ???
Up here in the Cornhusker state the state record is 10lb 11oz (Caught in 1960's). So my chances are slim to none here. But this weekend I'm heading to Lake Fork for our fishing trip . So we will have to see how it goes down south for us.

Floating Dock?
I have seen people use the 50 gallon drums for floating docks. They are not very stable. I know that you said that you wanted to be able to put it in a truck, but this is what we made two years ago. Its 22' x 12'. It unbelievably stable (holds 12 people no problem). We use a 50lb MinnKota to push it around (its works really well actually). We used fiberglass pontoons under it. This is our floating dock.

Weight of boat/trailer/motor?
You could go to a truck stop that has a scale and do it there. The one around here will do it for around $15. That way you will know for sure what the exact weight is.

YAY new TRITON
That is a GREAT looking boat!!! The rims on the trailer look sweet too!

Good deal or not???
I would highly suggest that you do NOT get the transom mount trolling motor. $300 for a 40lb would work fine in most conditions/ it just wouldn't be ideal. I have an old 30lb foot controlled for my 17' bass tracker and it works fine in most situations. But when I upgrade probably next year I will go with the 55lb Foot controlled. I'm just going to save some extra cash to get the 55lb instead of the 40lb.
