Criminology IS useless outside LE? For the Street level officer, it is somewhat as well. It serves me well now... Was a Detective and now am the Grants Manager, Evidence Manager, and Crime Analyst for my Department.

They are correct about the 4 year degree. Get something in Sociology, Accounting, Psychology... something that will be useful outside LE. I choose Local LE because I could choose where I lived and not where they wanted to send me. Keep in mind that, in a LE job, you will work the crappiest hours. I all but gave up hunting and fishing for nearly 15 years because I could never get the time. I am now Administrative so I do not work nights, weekends, or holidays and my hours are 8a - 4p. Helps to have a degree. lol

For LEO... get your degree. 4 year if possible. 2 year definitely. If you get the 2 year, go to a Department that has career development programs so they will pay for your college. If you can get your 4 year... you can go to bigger/better agencies if you wish. I got my degree in criminal justice/psychology then choose to return to the town I grew up in for my LEO career.

Didn't try hair jigs but my buddy tried the SJ. They would follow it but turn and wander off instead of strike.

I broke my Verdict yesterday. Picked up a 7-6 MH Veritas today. Will put it in the water Friday. I have been real happy with my Verdicts and Vendettas. Veritas is in the middle of these. We'll see.

We did try a drop with a white tube, silver/black 3" fluke, white 3" fluke... a plethora of other drop shot combos and no luck. It was like they were afraid of anything in the water.

Aluma... we wore out those bass Fri and Sat at Lucky. Put them all back so they probably were a little shy. Did you see all the females schooling near the dam. We found spots were there were hundreds with lockjaw! lol

I was wondering that. We did have two nights of sub-40°F temperature. Spawn had been going on all over the lake but some areas are pre... some post... some full on. Not sure what this was. Some active beds ion these coves though. I will be hitting those places next weekend so I may know more then.

I was fishing Smith Mountain Lake Saturday. Was having some pretty good catches in my usual place but the water was a little murky so I decided to go to a location I seldom go clear over to the other side of the lake. Get over there, 15 ft visibility, ... start to check out the points and... WOW... Largemouth everywhere!!!! I mean bunches and bunches of groups of bass all over the place. Anywhere from 7 to 15 or so bass in a group. Dozens of groups. They wouldn't hit anything... spinners, cranks, worms, jigs, top-water... nothing. So... what did I miss? Is there something I could have done to get a bite?

Went up to SML yesterday. Blackwater area was a it murky... 3-4 ft vis. Decided to head over to the Dam. Water went from green to blue in the deep. Looked nice. Went into some coves... there were literally hundreds of LM bass schooling. None would bite. Did snag a few smallies with a Chartreuse Black Back. It was just amazing all the bass in these coves. The visibility was about 15 feet, too. WOW!

Maroon 1990 K1500. In the market for a new/newer truck. Going with Ford F150 (probably) this time and considering white although I am sick of driving white cars.

I have been catching them over near Lucky Island in Blackwater area. Wasn't targeting them though. All have been caught on some form of Strike King Square Bill... mainly sexy shad... fishing for large and small mouth. All have been in the coves just past Lucky island.

Yup... spawn.

Stay away from the 28. I have a 28 MK on a 10 footer. Barely will push me across the river. Moderate current and I have to go to the gas motor.

No... no tourney. I am building confidence right now. lol Friday it was beautiful. So much to the point I got burned all to hades. Saturday... I sat in the house... looking at the pond in the back yard... fiddling with my fishing rods. Sunday... My Wife was feeling a bit on the exhausted side so we passed on Church...I went out in the rain and caught 5... After 5 in the boat I left. Soaked but happy.

I guess that's what I am hoping someone will answer. I have never done much there and when I have gone... messy water.

Guess I am the only one thick enough to waste my time on Leesville.
