  1. thanks for you opnions, i need to head over to rapala website to look at your choices
  2. i am faithful to bandit and SK. bombers and Xcaliber close second. I was at dicks today looking at the Rapalas, picked up a few IKE colors, they look nice, anyway with so many kinds; what is your fav and why. I am thinking of putting a order on some soon
  3. the kind from walmart sucks, not sure if that is elite or what
  4. o love all the croix line, the mojo eh... but all in all great rods
  5. i did not know falcon had reels, i tell ya another manufacter i never paid attention to was browning, they seem to have some nice stuff, i doubt your PQ will give ya any trouble unless it is a dud, i love my baitcasting version, great reel
  6. hey thanks, all in all I am bending toward the president. It is a local pick up since my Dicks has one, i am just putting plain old mono 8 lb on this, after trying and wasteing a good 50 buck i am not a fan of lite fluro on spinning, i finally found a descent brand, but that is a whole differante grunt/
  7. thanks yall, also i was at bps at the beach and they hade alot of the orange ones for sale, for like 80, i believe and the JM carbons were 120..
  8. so i didnt need it but gift cards and bps points landed me a MH veritas spinning rod. now i have a MH vendetta spinning for T rigs and all around stuff, but i want a nicer setup. I plan to use this mainly for flukes/grass hogs and T rigging Tubes. 3 reels came to mind, PQ spinning since the casting is great, a pfleuger president and the Orra S, i like the ora alot, but heard bad reviews on it.. second question for a C-rigging and heavier T rigging and some jig draggin, I have a carrot stick 7'3, beileve it is a MH action, would a carbonlite(orange to match the rod) in a 6 gear ratio be good, I heard they are great reels and super lite, to match colors and it is super lite. ps.. was looking in the bps catalouge and didnt see the carbonlites in it, do they still make em.
  9. Down at the beach and was doing the motions. Wally-dicks- bps. Been seeing alot of inshore spinning rods on sale. I figure these are a little more heavy, but they feel really nice. I just have and old cardinal and wanted it to have a rod.
  10. Weber, I did not know that, my code is going on 2 years and I use it religiously.
  11. get a quantium code, very nice, i broke my tec spec, for the money id get a triumph croix or sellus, hell save a bit and get a veritas
  12. i was gonna get a medium or MH spinning rod for flukes and tubes, just wondering for the price is that good deal and rod. I have a abu cardinal, so i wanted this to be a pretty cheap combo.
  13. believe BPS is pushing this rod for some reason, everytime i got to mine they have like 2 stands, in front of reel counter and last time i went i wanted a very cheap sinnerbait rod, the actually recommended this over there brand rods, WOW, well at least mine, they always recomend there brand
  14. i fish a few ponds, some are not really managed, they owners put em in there and they grow, these bass are pretty dang smart, the get all kinds of bait thrown at em. last summer i seriusly ticked alot of guys off. one guy was throwing live nightcrawler, the a guy T rigging a worm, then a few kids throwing plugs. i go in an plop my bait, bam 6 bass later they are all doing it and nothin.. so i belevie some skill of fishin goes into it. but i am not plastering these monsters like i pulled em out a lake, i wish i had a boat to get me off the shore and id have more chances pulling hogs.
  15. i fish most topwater slow, not sure in your neck of woods, but right now i am using topwater, soon as it hits water i wait the most a minute and let the wake around it die. then i vary my retrieve, usally 3 pops, then let the ripples die pop it maybe once, pause a sec, then 3 more pops, really no right answer, not sure if all fisherman do it but with topwater i make several repeated casts to same spot
  16. this was more of a loud crack, than a creak, i dont know why it would or should do that as none of my other setups
  17. got 2, cant wait to try em, waiting closer to summer,
  18. Yea, my weather has been 70 and 80s during the day, 30s at night, but today the temp dropped to about 55-60. It stopped raining about 1:00 pm today. is that considered a cold front, I mean how many days of bad weather or weather patterns storms etc... before it offcial is a cold front and how long does it throw bass off for
  19. you sir have made my d**n week
  20. does any cold front affect a bass, or should i ask what a cold front is. Very warm all week, then a night of rain and 10 degree drop tempatures, it is chilly today but not cold. Does this count as a cold front or does a cold front have to be a few days of cold weather. I hear people comming in from the docks and blame the cold front for bad fishing, If what i described above is a cold front is it even worth going fishing this evening, if so do i change or do any differantly, color-retrieves etc... also was told by old timers, (non big time fishermen) that after a big rain, plastics near the shore are kill becasue bass wait close to shore and eat the worms and bug that run off the bank.
  21. though.. sorry to re post, but i REALLY want to like these .
  22. i asked this a while back when my gander had for 75, lol then have em for 150, then on sale to 85 then to 75, then back to up to 150. lol anyway bought a in store warrenty, i lifed a dink, maybe 1.5 lb and i heard a crack, now i loved mine before this. I might just take it back and tell em... ps sorry to confuse, but i heard a big creak, no damage, i can see by normal eye, but why the hell would it make sound like that
  23. thanks for your imput, i do use tungston when i get a chance to get to a boat, lol on the shore, i lose alot, of lead and brass, in all lead packets i get it says it causes cancer, welp every bass in my area probably has it from me.... yea BAD joke, same thing with the 7 in. i do go up to 15 in. Once in a while but again throwing from shore. 90% i do use a bead. Just wondering about the T rig version of the C-rig, if i loose a rig on the shore, the pegged version sounds easier to re-tie
