Pinion and spool shaft stay in alignment when reel is disengaged resulting in almost no friction on the spool shaft when casting. I don't know the quality of the spool but it's a "wiffle" spool from 13+ years ago. Lots of guys on TT like this reel for frogging and buzzbaits.

It isn't the "new curado I". It's a smaller framed version of the current Curado 200I. Same idea as the Curado/Chronarch 200e vs Curado/Chronarch 50e. Smaller frame, less line capacity, lighter spool, (now) faster gear ratio in the XG. I'm curious why it is the "70" instead of the normal "50". Wonder if the frame isn't quite as small as the curado/chronarch 50. Either way, high gear ratio is the only thing that peaks my interest on these. Otherwise..eh.

FINALLY got my BTD 20 days later but it came! Stocked up on probably the cheapest tungsten you could ever find along /w Bagley Balsa B2's and Spro Little Johns. Got some blue FX2 for 10$ a spool as well.

The rod will work fine. I actually like those Winn Grips that come on that rod. As for the reel, whatever 6:x gear ratio the BB1 comes in will work perfectly for you.

eh, 1/4oz is more of the bottom range of these reels. A MH/F rod and Medium/Medium rod will throw your crank bait much differently /w the Medium/Medium being the most efficient in casting it. Sounds like a rod issue more so than a reel issue if you're trying to throw it on the MH/F expecting the same results as the M/M rod.

Have the same rod and bought it for what you are looking to use it for. Not a good senko rod. One heck of a 1/4oz tungsten + worm/creature rod though. Quite stout even for a MH. Get the medium 123%.

It's not as if each week they can call of Roger and ask to play team /w the best record. I don't see the Seahawks winning on the road in CAR or ARI. Before the bye and their "cakewalk stretch" into the playoffs they were 0-5 at home and they haven't won a road game vs a team /w a winning record or even a team in the playoff hunt. Could they have turned things around? Sure. But it's going to take a win week 17 to change my mind.
