how to know if you have a healthy lake or not
Your local biologist will love to hear what you have to say about that body of water. They may also educate you on the principles of management and fix the body of water by stocking of forage. : They call it job security!

Triton or Stratos? Found a Ranger!
I really like my Triton... very stable well built hull. My service with the company has been exceptional, but that may be my dealer more than triton. I like that the hull is a little heavier down low which is nice in heavy waves. Just my opinion but feel free to email me with more questions.

Best Fishfinder uner $120?
The money that you spend for electronics is well worth it. I have used many lower priced units over the years but until I bought a more expensive model, I never realized how to use it because the definiition isn't high enough. This website give alot of very useful info that showed me how to actually read electronics and not just the depth. http://www.lowrance.com/en/Support/Tips-and-Tutorials/Sonar-Tutorial/ I would look at units such as the Lowrance X52 which has enough resolution to produce a really usable picture of the bottom. Mine cost around $200, but the difference between the cuda 128 which I had on my last boat is 1000 fold better. It is all about what you can get but my advice would be to save a little more a spend a little extra. If you keep it dry it will last forever so you can move it from boat to boat.

New to Texas fishing
Although I haven't fished Waco itself, there are a number of good lakes in your immediate proximity. Take a look at this link. The records page tells you what is availalbe in the waters nearby. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/belton/ I fish Belton and Stillhouse which are both less tahn 50 miles away and have pretty good fishing. You also have Lake Whitney not too far away. Let me know if you need any more info.

How came English food isn't listed? What exactly is Somalian food? I thought they didn't have anything to eat? :-/

What ever happened to this rumor?!?!
Thats too funny! A few years back, we had a regular walmart... now we have the big one. They no longer sell guns or ammo and the fishing section was reduced by at least 50%. Our town sits between two large lakes as well. Sad.

What ever happened to this rumor?!?!
THAT WAS THE BEST RUMOR OF THE YEAR! I can still dream of a day when there will be a real tackle shop here again instead of Wallyworld! Someone doing inventory, and selling gear and guns that has actually fired a rifle and cast a crankbait. Instead of someone who was doing womens underwear the day before.

I QUIT! smoking that is...
I quit in November 2003. GOOD LUCK!!!! I smoked 2 since, alcohol involved. Get a good exercise program if you didn't have one. It will really make you see and feel the benefits. I gained alot of weight so be prepared. I did quit when I ahd surgury on one of my feet which made it worse. I feel a lot like I lost my best buddy sometimes. Non smokers will never understand how that first cig in the morning felt (especially with a cup of joe). I really miss it when driving on trips so I play my music louder now. PM if you need anything. I will give you all of the encouragement I can. You will feel much better! Eventually :-?

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
Thanks for all of the replies! I carried a colt combat commander for 3 years on the mean streets of LA. I like the .45, I really do, I always have. 1 well placed shot and it ain't getting back up. I sold that combat commander when I left LA in 94 and wish I still had it. I am a small dude (roughly half a Flechero) though and I really need to conceal my weapon some of the places I carry it (enough said!). I sold that combat commander when I left LA in 94 and wish I still had it. I have a Glock 21 full size and I can shoot the heck out of it but I really wouldn't want that in my waistband. I am really wondering if anyone has fired an XD 40 sub compact. It just seems like a really well balanced and capable pistol. The dimensions seem good for what I have in mind. The .40 S&W seems like a good cartridge.

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
Thanks WIII-60 Yeah, that's what I was looking for, inside the waist band. I had one for my combat commander when I was in Los Angeles. I had to keep mine concealed at all times back then too. I have carried many times in the past. I think I should be able to keep mine in a fight. At least I have been able to in the past, I am getting older though .

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
Moby, They seem well weighted wehn empty does it hold true with a full mag?

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
Burley what is an IWB? Having carried a M1911A1 for a long time, I know that it is not a concealed carry gun and if you have carried much, the weight gets to you even with a good holster. I live in TX and we have concealed carry so it would need to be hidden. I had a colt combat commander years ago and it wasn't too bad but the sub compact XD40 seems like the weight would be perfect for all day. I would also need to keep it on the beltline for the places i would carry it.

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
Just a little large and heavy. With a full hi cap mag I would say it is about 3 lbs. The handgrip is bulky as well. I want something that is concealable, and I am short. It is very nice to have in the car though. I have certainly enjoyed firing it as well.

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
I too own a Glock 21. I really like it but obviously it is not a carry gun! I know that I don't want a nine and many .45's are just too big. Keith, Thanks for the advice on the holster, I will start looking tonight. There is a place in Killeen called Quantico Tactical that has a lot of holsters (I may even get the pistol there if they will come down in price a bit). SPEEDBEAD, which Gander Mountain?

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
I am considering this pistol in the sub compact for a carry gun. Has anyone used this weapon? I have fondled a couple and am leaning towards this psitol. thanks in advance!
