Im making this post to be able to keep up with my totals since Im aiming at 1000 bass for the year. He he he this is a great problem to have, catching or fishing too much. Unfotunately my car broke and I havent been able to fish since. Before finesse: 4 bass The great day 14 bass Same week 5 bass a bad tuesday 3 bass wednesday 5 bass mar 16 7 bass Last time at the lake mar 19 11 bass for a grand total of: 49 bass for the year. I should have the car up and running this week and resume fishing ASAP with a vengeance LOL I have to pick up the numbers to have a chance of achieving my total. Im halfway from what was my actual goal of 100 bass for a year and that last year I failed at miserably. I think I should reach the 100 milestone, then 500 then aim at the 1000 bass. Probably will be able to achieve 1000 next year or if i get to fish one of those crazy days in some lakes here in PR where you get 100 bass day.

great setup. If you are going to be fishing clear water lakes, get some flourocarbon. Best line there is for finesse.

for around 12$ you can watch the cups from Major league fishing. Lunkerville has a lot of episodes for free. flw website has a lot of the shows from the tournaments online free. You tube has some episodes online for different shows. A lot of the guys have videos of their shows online. Like scott martin who has a lot of episodes online. World Fishing Network is worth the money. I also watch a lot of the Pursuit channel and Outdoor channel. The latter two are more hunting than fishing.

hey reason are you p.rican? where in pr would you fish? I have done it. I will do it again but right now I have a new schedule that allows me fish 7 days a week. now I only need to fix the car i use to pull the trailer with the desperation of going fishing again I would call tomorrow If I had the chance.

everybody has mentioned a couple of their setups. my question will be, how do you guys shake your heads?? do you shake a lot or very little, how deep? what plastics do you prefer?

it seems like a lot of you like slip shots and small carolina rigs. makes me wonder what I can put together with what I have to give it a try. I will for sure prepare the light carolina rig for tuesday when I go fishing again what i dont know is what kind of plastic I will use.

Ive recently learned how effective a little plastic with a small weight being hopped can be. Whats your most effective finesse technique? how do you present it? Im wondering about weightless plastics(not senkos or ikas) and how effective could those be. How should you present weightless plastics?

I started fishing in march of last year. Since then I caught 9 bass in 2012 and so far in 2013 I had 4 bass. I stepped up by getting help from a master of the puertorican lakes. He has a couple videos on youtube and he is a very good tournament fisherman. He showed me how to finesse fish with 4 inch plastics. I caught 14 on tuesday(1 more than I had ever caught total) then I caught 5 more today and LOST a LOT of fish. Poor hookups, bad fights, ect ect. Its all behind now. Im getting bites consistently and im learning on how to detect those bites. I will be more patient fighting fish which will result in more catches here are a couple pics of the best fish! also, I caught two nice fish(nice for this reservoir that is good on numbers from what ive learned this week and bad on size. two 2 pounders)

Rooster I have a Puerto Rico license and a Florida boating license and both specify that the operator cannot drink. If you do so they prosecute you in a similar way they prosecute driving car wile drunk .

Ive stocked up on: jerk baits, deep cranks and built an Alabama rig. Hopefully I become decent using these. I want to master the spinnerbait. Im decent using it but its not very effective. So there must be something missing from my presentation. Being a beginner I want to master the basic rigs: texas and the C rig. Meanwhile summer is around the corner here in Puerto Rico so I can work on becoming good at catching fish in deep water. Thats where the Deep cranks and the C rig will shine. Right now soft plastics texas rigged are killers here in the numbers department. not so much in the size department. I consider myself a power fisherman. I want to become proficient on finesse fishing so that I can become a good all around angler.

I always bring a trail mix with nuts cranberries. I love cakes so cupcakes always find their way. I want to be healthier and jerky is a great choice. Oh water and drinks are indispensable

3 empty trips. all ive caught is tilapia and a catfish. it sucks for sure. I talked to a local guy that is very good at fishing my home lake and he is a good tournament fisherman also. I also been talking with the guy that sold me my boat. He is also in a club and fishes in tournaments. So both tell me that i should fish texas rigged lizards and worms. I was catching fish on spinnerbaits and I caught one in a carolina rig. the tournament guy told me that i should use 10# ultra clear line and small worms when the bite is slow and that braid is worthless in our lakes in PR. im more of a power fisherman, what other finesse presentations can I employ when fishing slow bite days??? Why is braid such a big turnoff for my local fish?? the only lures I have bought and I will buy no matter what are KVD lures. the quality matches the name of the pro. just the best in the business. great quality. the rest, ive bought because it was highly recommended here and I bought jerk baits because I saw the world series of fishing and I saw what Mcleland did with it. since I saw first hand the results and the presentation I bought it.

Im a waiter at a hotel in PRico. I do most of my money fast in a couple hours, go to work at 5pm after fishing all morning and Im very good at what I do(service.. i suck at fishing). They hate me for fishing so much that they want to make me a supervisor. Increased work/responsibility/hours for the same money... Its not official yet but I have to take it in order to grow and get experience, if it happens.

yup when things went south kriet went into bitchy mode. he is a great angler, he did well on the challenge cup but KVD is inside his head no doubt about it. I didnt like Hackney before but little by little he has won me over. I was really happy for brauer he is the man when it comes to docks.

I have the book and for whatever reason I have never gotten to read the whole thing. I think ive read 20 pages off of it and lord knows I need to learn as much as possible because being honest I suck. I can only catch fish on spinnerbaits and the ones I do are one a day, one every two hours if im lucky. Its the only thing im confident in. I have caught a couple on shakey heads and since buying a boat all ive fished is reactions baits and covering a lot of water... sucks to be me. I also have the whole line of the In Fisherman series and Ive read through it and im still not catching the amount of fish i want to catch. I pulled the book from the closet. Hopefully I get to read it NOW that I need to grow as a fisherman.

arent those deltran battery tenders just 1.5 amps? how effective are those in charging the battery? will it take days also? they claim they have the worlds most advanced battery charger. I have a charger from a friend and its is ok in my opinion but advanced its not. for some reason I wont charge well the battery.

I think theres no outboard involved in the sale. Notice how they dont show pics of the back of the boat? also there is no specs of motor. I suggest you get a boat with an outboard if the budget allows you to.

its a mess in my opinion. I set up my spinning tackle to be righty my baitcaster is the usual right handed hence my desire to change my spinning reels. I learned to use lefties since I was a kid. Im trying to switch completely to using the rod on my left and the handles on my right. It sucks because I cant cast very well with my left hand. I sometimes do the cast right switch rod from hand to hand.
