  1. when the bite its off there are rigs that the bass will always hit. You just have to be patient and fish then slow with small plastics. Drop shot split shot shakey head slider heads small texas rig usually different colors than the bass ever see work. here they love smoke colored plastics. I paint the tails chartreuse and they are all over them when they wont look at green pumpkin plastics. its just a matter of adjusting and presenting an easy meal that they cant resist. I have a worm here that bass take into the gullet every time. Its a pain to unhook them but it catches fish guaranteed. find that worm for your body of water.
  2. can I ask you ... why that long distance between the worm and the weight? It doesnt look like its a very clear pond. edit: I dont mean to tell you to change it because its clearly working, I just want to know your reasons
  3. what the heck is wrong with you? we chase walmart girls every lake we go to and you had two out of the water and didnt went for it?
  4. Hey AJMichigan what have you been using? when? and how? boat? shore? ect ect please elaborate so we can help you
  5. I have two and they have impressed me a lot so far. It doesnt spiral, gets bit plenty and looks good. why are you guys hating?? the clacking rap and the scatter rap are great variations to what we had as cranks before. pretty innovative if you ask me.
  6. I dont know anything about jig fishing other than you hop them in the bottom and you pitch or flip them. I dont know how to pitch and while Ive tried it a bunch of times i cant do it. I can flip but I dont thing thats the best way to cast em, considering I have to be relatively close to the targets.
  7. ALSO you guys arent married to a Puertorican woman.
  8. Ive been telling her that Im stocking some baits since the Low season in my job is coming I wont be able to buy much in the future LOL. That Duo realis spinbait looks awesome. Makes me want to buy it in every color.... shush monkey GTFO of here sqhertz what kind of hook did you use for the alive shad?
  9. im experiencing some discomfort in my left shoulder after a day of fishing. It is on my non casting arm which is weird. Is it something to worry about?
  10. God forbid I pull the "I pay the rent here" argument. she will cut my pride and serve it in a platter lol.
  11. I always pay 16 bucks for 2 day shipping...
  12. I cant believe how many of you are fishing crankbaits "wrong". The idea of a medium action rod, a slower gear ratio and line with stretch is to give the fish time to eat the lure before you rip it off. Since I picked up a rig for cranks Ive been doing better and fishing them is easier and much more comfortable.
  13. Stickers are as cheap advertisement as you can get. You get the company or product exposed to many people, for a rather long amount of time, your brand gets a lot of recognition and all for a buck or two? People get curious and will search or simply ask the person displaying the sticker about the product. Do you guys really think that strike king will go out of bussiness if they spend 2000-5000 on stickers and hand them for free? last Ive heard they have a LOT of sponsored pro anglers and that has to eat a considerable amount of money but if you dont care about competitive fishing you will still be seeing their name pop up in boats or trucks of people and will make you purchase they product even if it meant just to try it. How much is a billboard(TV or the internet arent free either) worth monthly? why not turn every car you can into a permanent billboard by giving them a 1$ sticker? You can have the best product in the world If people dont know it exist no one will buy it.
  14. My wife is going to kill me when she sees another package getting here this week. Two weeks ago I received a new rod and line. A week before that I got a new reel from a member here, a sweet lews that I enjoy so much. So this week this evil animal makes me purchase even more plastics(I already have a TON), Simms sun Gloves(the excuse I used to convice myself and tell her that I needed to make an order) and a duo realis to try that spybaiting thing Im my mildly pressured clear reservoir. I bought a couple worms: A robo zipper grub A robo zipper shaking 5" A ROBOWORM ALIVE SHAD FOR SPLITSHOTTING!!! A newly released berkley powerbait rib snake and a power team lures finicky tickler. so more finesse kinda worms of which I already have a TON of them. Have you guys fished those baits??? What things have this evil animal made you buy lately??
  15. If I thought that way I would have to quit fishing. theres only like 3 reservoirs that are "near" me the closest being 45 minutes and the other two at almost 2 hours from my house. This means that when my home lake(the one at 45 min) gets pounded every day I have to still go there and catch fish. If I had a reservoir 5 or 10 minutes from my house that was highly pressured like you guys say I would still go. pressured waters are the best places to learn and practice finesse fishing, those are the places that would make you better. It makes me better to go to my home lake on sundays after 11am when the weekend tournament has just finished because the bite is gonna be tough and locating and tempting bass to bite is a real big challenge. You guys should try it, Ive done it a couple times and it makes you fish on the moment.
  16. slider heads !!! they are killer in the deep clear reservoirs I fish.
  17. senkos are worthless here in Puerto Rico. At least in the 3 reservoirs that I visit. anyone having success with them in clear, deep reservoirs?
  18. how do you fish it? how do you jerk it?
  19. do you find something special with the lure ?? like it rattles louder than other of the same or wobbles or things like that?
  20. I wish I would have done the same today. there's a tournament of the club I'm fishing with and I have to work. It sucks to say the least.
  21. here is the other way around. Im the crazy out of this world environmentalist that has spent a ton of money on equipment just to release the fish. I hate fishing around people. I avoid them, it sucks when they are in one of the best spots of the lake spooking the bass.
  22. I remember seeing this kind of thread in the past and people would not be happy. I for one agree with selective harvest. You eat the small fish and in the case of my local lakes thats a 12-14 incher and you leave everything over that in the lake. I do prefer other kinds of fish. I have so much saltwater fish available all around me that eating bass is not on my priority list. I love wrapping the fish in aluminum foil, with peppers, onions, olive oil, garlic, lemon, salt, and a small touch of a local tree. I dont seem to find the name of it. But its a soft kind of tree and it has a minty stick right in its round big leafs.
  23. I would not do it, if that will mean I will have to go to court. The lake is my shrine, my peaceful place, I dont want to go there thinking I could get jumped going through the woods. It would have to be anonymous or nothing in my personal opinion. I guess your conservation efforts are stronger than mine. You DID the right thing, go through with it. Ive had people asked me for fish since I exclusively C&R and I always give them something. Most of the time Its tilapia and catfish when they attack lures never a bass, rarely a blue gill. I always feel bad for the people that dont have anything to eat while others like us have the hobby of catching and releasing what will be food in their case.
  24. this year Ive been skunked once or twice. The last time was this d**n week when I went there to try new baits and the stupid government decided Chantal was a threat to PR and they had to close all gov agencies at mid day. I got to fish for around 2 hours and just when I got into a spot that has been producing right now in the summer the stupid rangers came and asked me to leave. I WAS ticked. It was also the only trip I could do this week. You can bet that skunk hurts. Anyway next time I will catch one and then I will start working the new baits.
