  1. After a fishing trip to my local lake which has a 20 MPH speed limit I garage my boat. Then the Garage smells of gasoline. I have not been able to find a leak in the hoses or on the engine. The engine is a 2000 Johnson 115 hp model J115PLSSB carburetored not injected. Any ideas what to check to eliminate the smell?
  2. Wednesday fished from 9 to noon, caught 16 LMB biggest was 16 inches. Several came unbuttoned before getting to boat. Got broke off one time on 8 lb line (probably my fault, should have retied after several fish). PB & J twister tail and Ned rigs.
  3. Anything biting? Leave a report, I"ll probably hit Wyco Wednesday.
  4. This boat looks good for an '89. I would definately check the transom and floor for soft spots. Check compression on engine. Definately would go for a test ride. If you end up with it I would get rid of the oil injection on that old of engine and pre mix the oil and gas. Also I would guess the boat is sixteen foot and maybe none inches due to the model numbers. Looking at the pics I don't see it being 18 feet.
  5. Fished Wyco today, saw only two other boats on the lake. Had a decent day caught 15 LMB and 2 Smallmouth plus a drum that probably went 4#. (darn, thought I had a big bass!) Everything bit the Ned rig. No bigguns but was a fun day.
  6. Got them all on a Ned Rig. Afraid you may be right, although the winter Crappie at Perry and Clinton is usually good.
  7. Went to LaCygne this morning. North wind early made it a little rough to fish but eventually wind changed to west and died down. Caught several LMB, no big ones but had a good day on the water.
  8. I am not surprised what with all the lakes around here that have them and all the anglers that fish Wyco as well as those other lakes. I know the majority are concerned and careful about trying to control them, but it happens. Could have been the geese ??? Will just have to make sure and clean the boat after fishing there now.
  9. Fished Wyco Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Quantity was great, quality OK Tuesday but smaller fish on Wednesday. Caught over 50 Bass in two days. They were hammering the Ned Rig.
  10. Spent a couple hours on a new modification to the boat. Added a Recessed tray for TM control. Took about as long to get enough courage to cut into deck as it did to install the tray. Going fishing tomorrow to try it out. It is tomorrow and I really like the recessed TM control. easy on the back and legs. Shold have done this a couple years ago.
  11. Did not get on the water this weekend, Grandkids games to watch on Saturday then trip to Wichita Sunday to visit family. Hope to install Troll-Eze recessed trolling motor control tray tomorrow. Then Get out for a couple days this week.
  12. Fished Perry today, was an awesome day on the lake. Mirror water and bluebired sky. I was after crappie instead of bass. Caught quite a few but couldn't stretch any of them enough to make 10 inches. Caught a couple nice drum.
  13. Fished some private strip pits Saturday in southern MO. Quantity was AWSOME, Quality could have been better. Tons of 12 to 15 inch bass, did stick one that went 4# and a few 13" crappie that hit bass jigs.
  14. Just a question for those of you who have fished the Pleasanton and Mound City lakes, Are the roads to the lakes paved or are they gravel? I don't like taking my bass boat down dusty gravel roads, but I would like to fish these lakes.
  15. WOW guess I don't know where the other one in Linn county is. I always used to one at the Marina. It is $2.00 per day.
  16. There are only two boat ramps at Lacygne, North and marina. Don't know about the north ramp but the fee at the Marina is only $2.00 per day and the facilities are much nicer.
  17. What State Lake are you fishing? is it Leavenworth by chance? Nice FIsh ! ! I fished Wyco this morning, caught several LMB and a couple smallies but nothing nearly that nice.
  18. That's what I was afraid of. With my luck I would bang up my prop. Guess I'll wait for next spring and hope for some rain to fill Leavenworth State Lake back to normal,
  19. How's the water level in Leavenworth State Lake? Last time I was ther was really scarry at the boat ramp.
  20. According to KDWPT Brown SFL has blue-green algae and it is still in Advisory State. Shouldn't be a problem fishing but wouldn't want to get in the water.
  21. They will hit cranks, top water, jigs, just about anything you can throw into the school that is churning the water.
  22. Guess I should have gone to Perry. Maybe for more than one reason. Chose Wyco for the outing today, Was a tough bite, managed to boat a few LMB, nothing of any size.
  23. OK, sounds like it is not worth the 50 mile ride to Miami at this time. Might just head over to Perry, if I can't fine LMB I can probably find some whites to play. Or Wyco has been fairly decent all summer. One thing for certain. . . . . . I am going Fishing !
  24. Why is that? I thought Miami was a pretty good bass lake?
  25. Planning on going to Miami County Fishing lake Monday. Never been there before, I know several of you have fished there recently, anybody want to give me some suggestions as to where and what? Planning to go early morning, anybody off work and want to go along? If you don't mind fishing with an old retired guy! Send me a Personal message with phone number and I'll call you.
