  1. does it look like this http://www.basspro.com/Abu-Garcia-Vendetta-Casting-Rods/product/1208220531216/ this is the 2nd generation model look at where it says Vendetta on the rod is the easiest way to tell
  2. The flipping switch on a reel is pretty handy at times. Basically you keep your thumb on the thumb bar make your flip then release the thumb bar and the reel is already engaged. You don't have to turn the handle to engage the reel. I have 3 reels with a switch and use it often.
  3. all of the 6'6" ones I saw at the store tonight were all medium action. If you try to exchange it, they may only give you the 29 bucks back. Not really sure how that would work.
  4. I just talked to him. I offered to show him on a computer but he said he believed me. He said it wasn't the first time that walmart.com has messed up on things like this. Just see if they will pull the add up and show them the picture of the rod. Where it says Vendetta on it is completely different. It also says in the add the next generation, which is also on the rod. Good Luck
  5. These rods are for the 1st generation model Vendetta NOT the 2nd generation. But.. after talking kindly to the store manager about what it shows and says in the online add he let me trade it for the new model. It is a 7' Medium action rod. It feels like it is going to be a pretty nice rod.
  6. I just got a text from walmart saying my rod is at the store for pick up. I am gonna stop on the way home. Really hoping for it to be the new model!!!
  7. My vote is for the Veritas by Abu Garcia. If you do a search on here this topic comes up quite often and can give you a ton of info.
  8. here is a video that explains it http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/how-to-walk-a-frog.html
  9. I like to peg my weights when i am fishing grass or heavy cover. If I am fishing more open water I leave it unpegged.
  10. This bolded line really gets to me.... I mean really?? YOU felt that was enough??? Who the heck made you the judge and jury? I sure as heck am not gonna have someone, let a lone a 16yr old, tell me that I can or can't take fish home that I catch.
  11. If their M action is about the same as my Veritas M action I would go that route. I was throwing 5xds on it yesterday and it didn't feel like it was putting too much strain on the rod.
  12. I would go with the fixed one piece rod, but that is a personal preference. As far as the M or MH goes, what type of crankbaits are you planning on using? From shallow to medium divers I would go with the M and anything from medium up to the deep ones I would choose the MH.
  13. As long as you are happy with it that is all that matters.
  14. I have the 7' M action Veritas and really like it. I think it only goes up to 3/4oz lures. This weekend was the first time I really got to fish it and it seems like a pretty good rod. They offer a 7'6" MH models that will throw the bigger deeper diving crankbaits. I will be picking one of these up in the near future for throwing the 6XD crankbaits. They run 99.00 but i think you can find them cheaper on ebay.
  15. The add says Vendetta but the picture online and the description is of the Vendetta 2. I don't get mine until next week so I don't know for sure. I might push for the 2 if they say anything I will pull up TW site and show them the description!!!
  16. I have 3 of the Silvermax combos. I think they are pretty decent for the price. This will be their 2nd season in use and they have held up so far.
  17. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/116247-strike-king-s11-optic-glasses/ Here is a thread that was started the other day about these. I haven't had a chance to see them in person yet. I am planning on checking them out for myself next time I get to Bass Pro.
  18. I am looking to replace the hooks on my crankbaits but honestly have no idea what size they are. Is there a size I could purchase that would work for most crankbaits? What size would you recommend and any brands that are better than others? Thanks for any info you can give. Kyle
  19. I was just at walmart last night looking at these. All the 7' rods there were all M action. They had them priced at $79.99. Can't wait to pick mine up!!!!
  20. the one main difference I noticed is the reel seat and the trigger. they have the reel seat that is on the Veritas rod. It is way more comfortable to me.
  21. I think they are all one piece.
  22. I just picked up a 7 footer. can't pass up a deal that good!!!!!
  23. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Abu-Garcia-Vendetta-Casting-Rod/23699285?_mm=
  24. I use the palomar knot for everything. Haven't had any reason to try anything else.
  25. I have 4 rods rigged up with 12lb and one with 15lb. I think the 12lb would be the best all around line.
