I always have good luck with a white 3" grub on a jighead. Also did really well on a red eye shad last year.

Four guys have been going to the same fishing trip for many years. Two days before the group is to leave, Ron's wife puts her foot down and tells him he isn't going. Ron's mates are very upset that he can't go, but what can they do. Two days later the three get to the camping site only to find Ron sitting there with a tent set up, firewood gathered, and dinner cooking on the fire. "Geez Ron, how long you been here, and how did you talk your missus into letting you go?" "Well, I've been here since yesterday. Yesterday evening, I was sitting in my chair and my wife came up behind me and put her hands over my eyes and said, 'Guess who ?'" I pulled her hands off, and she was wearing a brand new nightie. She took my hand and pulled me to our bedroom. The room had candles and rose petals all over. On the bed she had handcuffs, and ropes! She told me to tie her up and cuff her to the bed, so I did. And then she said, "Do whatever you want." So, Here I am!

Is the Ned rig a year round bait? Is it best used around rocky areas or can you use it anywhere? I have only used it along the d**n at Melvern.

Stupid question about the Ned Rig.... Does it matter what half of the bait you use? I cut mine in half and have been using the side that has the narrower tail section. Can you still use the other half? Don't really want to waste it if I can. I made some up for the KC get together and accidently mixed them with another type of plastic bait and got a big melted together mess on my hands now!!!!

My best one this year was texas rigged soft plastics. I seemed to catch more fish on a 10" motor oil colored worm and a Zoom speed craw in blueberry. The speed craw caught my biggest which was a 5lb + this spring.

Anybody get out lately? I was wanting to get out today but the wife had different plans for me.......

I don't own one, as I prefer a different brand, but with all the great reviews on Bass Pro's website I would not hesitate to buy one. They just had a great black friday sale on it. Rod and reel combo for 69.00. Not sure if the rod is worth anything, but still a great price on the reel!!!

I have 2 of the Veritas rods and really like them. I don't know anything about the rest of them though. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the group.

This gets my vote!!! I have it on 5 of 6 rods and love it.

I usually have 5 baitcast set ups and 1 spinning rod with me when I go. I normally fish from the back of the boat, so anymore than that it gets a little cramped!!

Look at the kc area section on the website. Very popular at Melvern Lake for smallmouth. I used it a little during our get together and caught 5 on it. Clayton is the one that turned me on to it and now it is always with me.

Congrats on a nice doe. Looks like a perfect shot too. Those Rage heads do a number on a deer for sure!!!
