  1. I am just coming to have fun... fish what you want to fish with!!!!!
  2. I don't think there are any advantages or disadvantages. It all comes down to personal preference.
  3. It may make the difference on one day but the not on the next. You just have to fish them both ways and see what the fish are eating that day. My main ones that I use do not have the feather on it, but I have a few in the box that do... just in case
  4. This year I am making myself learn to fish football head jigs. I just picked up 20 of them so I am stocked up. Just need to learn how to fish them the correct way.
  5. I would use fluoro for crankbaits, especially the deeper diving ones. On concern I have it the 6'6" rod for them. I think they would fish better on a 7" to a 7'6" MH. But that is my preference. Bps fluoro works for KVD so it can't be too bad. I haven't tried it. I would go with the 12lb line to throw the deeper ones.
  6. you are going to love them. let us know what you think of them. my next one is going to be a 7'6" H action.

I was hoping to get a look at one at the local tackle store tonight, but they didn't have any. I will pick one or two up when I can find them.
  8. I got to try it out 2 weeks ago and it seemed to work pretty well. Didn't get to fish too long as the trolling motor crapped out on us.
  9. Nope. Most people put a few yards of mono on it before putting the braid on. It keeps it from spinning on the spool.
  10. Ya, just a typo on my post. I wont be able to make it to the MAY date Thanks Clayton for getting this going!!!
  11. I would be interested in coming to the spring event. I am sure I could count on my father in law in as well. I would prefer April 27th as we have a tourney the first weekend in March. My vote would be for Melvern but I haven't fished any of the other lakes. Would love to get some spring time smallmouth!!
  12. What size do you guys recommend for the Strike King series? From the 1.5 model up to the 5XD? I have never changed the hooks before but might before tourney season starts here. Thanks
  13. my 7' MH has the micro guides. I do alot of casting and pitching with it and can't really tell a difference in the guides. The micro guides do cut down a little on the weight. It is a pretty sensitive rod too!! I think you will like them. Let us know what you think!
  14. another vote for the Veritas. I have 3 now and love them.
  15. I am pretty sure that your Gammies will work just fine. Good luck!!
  16. mine does the same thing no matter how i bend the arms.
  17. Another vote for the Veritas rod. I have three now and love them all. I will be replacing all my rods with the Veritas line.
  18. Is there a standard size that will work with most baits? I wouldn't mind picking up some to change out but dont really want to have to buy 3 or 4 different sizes. Thanks Kyle
  19. I live in Kearney and we got around 8 inches of snow.
  20. They can also be picked up at the local Walmart. That is where I get mine.
  21. I would contact the reel manufacturer and see what they have to say. I am sure they could point you in the right direction.
  22. My wife drives an 06 Dodge Durango with 60k on it. I have an 06 Chevy Colorado with 80k on it. Best thing about them both is that they are paid for!!!! We love not having car payments!!!
  23. I sell used auto parts in a salvage yard in Kansas City.
  24. I have yo-zuri hybrid 12 on all except 1 reel and it has braid. I really like the hybrid line.
  25. I used them last year and wasn't impressed with them at all. It seemed like the tails weren't cut all the way and they didn't have much action. I tried them on more than one occasion and never got a bite. I am going with some Strike King coffee tubes this year.
