  1. Mind sending me this spreadsheet, it would sure help me out. Thanks! mrpokey00@yahoo.com thanks again
  2. Personally, I usually get a nice reel and put it on a nice rod, but the reel is the centerpiece of the combo. For instance, one of my favorite combos is a Revo on a rod I got at Bass Pro for like $30. Works great. But it all depends on your style of fishing. For me this is golden.
  3. I live in Chespaeake and I'm in Suffolk about 5 days a week fishing. Mostly I'm at Lone Star Lakes, as I know all the lakes there very very well. I'm more of a Quantity then Quality guy, though I did get another 23" bass this week for my 10th Bass Citation and Expert Angler Status Anyone wanna get out in Lone Star Let me know, I'd love to get a few guys together and have a small tournament one day.
  4. I'll usually switch out the hooks to similar sized Gamagatsu hooks, I'll occasionally move the hooks up one size, sometimes you can sometimes you can't, depends on the bait, and how it affects the action of the bait. You really can't go wrong fishing any of the below baits: Bomber Square A KVD 1.0 and 1.5 Square Bills RC 1.5
  5. I've been doing well lately on a local pond with a Bomber Square A and a KVD 1.0
  6. I've fished here a million times. Fish in Gatlinburg, right downtown. Use a single hook, spinner, I like brown and black, in 1/16 oz or so. Also small grubs work well. 4 lb test. Just walk from Christus Gardens twards the Gatlinburg beginning twards Pigeon Forge. I've done best by Twin Island Hotel, Christus Gardens and the park near Christus Gardens, Good Luck
  7. I pay $8/yr for my Bassmaster subscription. There's a guy/company on Ebay that sells 1 year subscription to almost all magazines Cheap. Currently I get: Field and Stream Bass Master Sports Afield In Fisherman Backpacker I think I paid around $20 for a 1 year subscription for all of those combined
  8. I'd be fine getting blindfolded for 5 minutes to catch 5 lbers. Now if someone wanted to blindfold me for more then that, not gonna happen

  13. The old Bass Pro Shops Rc 1.5 Square Bill Crankbait cause it always produces fish
  14. I have no issues using EWG Gamagatsu hooks. I use them for all my texas rigging, senko's, and even flipping. I have no plans to change.
  15. Apparently my Top Secret lure will remain Top Secret
  16. I think Manns makes them, I know they make a soft plastic dragon fly lure
  17. What I've done before is write the depth on the side as gills using red ink, for instance "6 feet" written in red ink in a crescent moon pattern on the side looks like red gills. Can't say it made a difference but it looked better then just writting random numbers on the bills
  18. My secret lures: 1/4 homemade spinnerbait RC 1.5 Crankbaits Spanky Jigs *** soft plastics
  19. I'm the exception to the rule, I like smaller rods, my longest rod, other then my flipping stick is 6'2", and most are 6 ft even. I have a few rods that are 5'6" and they work great too. Heck I bought a 3' casting rod, to keep in my truck for when I pass a lake, it has casting distance issues but it works
  20. I'll be traveling down parts of the Alcan but mostly the Cassiar Hwy this June. Looking to catch Bass, Rainbows, Grayling, mostly, but would love to get a SmallMouth, Walleye, or some Perch. Any suggestions on where to go? We are willing to stop at Creeks, Rivers, Lakes, Ponds etc. I'll be going with my fiance, and we will be fishing from shore, though we will have some waders with us. We will be in Canada about 10 days, and looking to fish everyday. Thanks for everyone's help
  21. A few years ago I was fishing for spawning bass from shore on a local lake. There was a huge bass sitting in about 2 feet of water, and I was focused on every movement of this fish seeing how he reacted to every twitch of the rod. Suddenly I look down and see about a 12 inch water moccasin crawl between my 2 feet moving twards the lake. I was paralyzed in fear, no knowing wether to run away or stay perfectly still. I stayed still as concrete and he moved on to the lake and swam away, but never again did I get that focused on a fish from shore Not a fishing trip but a boating trip, around 2008 my girlfriend and I decided to go to a local lake (Merchants Millpond) and spend a weekend together. We had camped and done a little fishing from shore, and were having a blast. We decided to rent a canoe after talking to the park rangers. They said there had been a few large gators seen in a certain cove of the mill pond. This was early March, but we decided to paddle over there and see a real gator in person. Neither one of us had much canoeing experience, as we'd each only been once, anyways we paddle over to the spot circled on a crude map of the old millpond, and start lookin around. Immediately my girlfriend spots a family of Nutria swimming around and yells "LOOK" while pointing over the side. This motion throws off the balance of the boat and it flips. Now we are in a lake full of gators, in the spot the big gators had last been seen and we're in the water. We frantically run, swim, and jump thru underwater bushes, to a small island about 15 feet square. Now we are covered in cuts and bruises from trying to get to the island , and we are stranded on this small island with nothing to survive, and we are freezing cold. The canoe is floating upside down about 30 feet off shore, paddles are randomly floating around, and we are about 2 miles from the launch. After about 45 minutes a paddle floats to us and we can use that to get another paddle, then after about another 20 minutes the canoe get close enough to us so we can reach it with paddles. We flip it over and rush back to the launch, luckily a park ranger was there and drove us to our campsite about another 2 miles away. We immediately started a fire to warm up. This was the scariest thing that ever happened to me, I was convinced I was going to be eaten by a gator
  22. Isn't this where the TV Show Gator Boys is filmed (Holiday Park). I'm not from the area, just seems familar
  23. I had a couson that had a small pond on his property, a ditch ran into it and went for about a mile into another pond on his neighbors property. It's just a normal ditch that sits beside the road, but it's deep, maybe 4 - 5 feet of water in it, and as a kid I caught many a bass from that ditch, which was only about 4 feet wide
  24. I really like these baits, especially the Red Wings one, and I don't even like hockey
  25. Thats awesome, but it's up to $250 now so I won't be getting it
