  1. Great reel for frogging, its the reel that I have been using. Unless the the OP is willing to spend a little bit more $$, he may want to consider the new Citica instead.
  2. My thick cover frogging rod is the Dobyns 736. I personally enjoy this rod for this application. In the thick cover, this rod posseses some serious back bone. The rod I find is pretty light for a H rod, which helps, especially if you throw a HB all day like I have been known to do.
  3. Thanks for the post. It was awesome to see that the HB frog I have been fishing for over 5 yrs is at the top of the list.
  4. Every once in a while I will throw the LT mouse. I will throw it when I feel the top water bite will produce, but know that the frog is just not cutting for that day.
  5. Zoom uvibes, Flukes, spook, chug bug, mouse, that's just to name a few.
  6. Congratulations Shane!!! WTG bud!! That's an awesome pig right there.
  7. Welcome. A quick tip. Google earth is awesome for finding new water.
  8. Something is not right. Are you normally running the motor in open water and this is happening or are you running the motor in thick vegetation?
  9. Congrats on your first frog fish. Keep at it, you will get better.
  10. Unfortunately this happens sometimes. Do your best to remove the hook as carefully as you can. That's all you can do.
  11. If its really thick pads I would not throw the HB or soft frog for that matter. Frogs can be weedless but they are not bullet proof. If I had to throw in the really thick pads I would search for pockets, or work the outer fringes of heavy pad field. From a kayak you are at a hook setting disadvantage and pulling out a big bass from the middle of a thick pad field may be quite challenging.
  12. Absolutely not. I really enjoy fishing these jigs. I throw them in heavy cover without having to worry if I am going to get hung up.
  13. The more information you are willing to disclose on your profile the better. Just knowing you are from Broward County is helpful. There are many BR members from Broward. Your age, what bodies of water you fish on, can also be very helpful. Choporoz made a good point, building a presence will help you significantly. I have met and fished with several members from this site, and become friends with a few. Best of luck to you, and welcome to BR.
  14. Ooooh good thread. I have 2 Ltb's and 2 Champions. Both are great rods, I will give my nod to the Champions. They balance much better than the LTB's
  15. Sadly, you're right. It won't stop, scary enough the violence keeps escalating. Now its spilling over in all aspects of our lives. Schools, Universities, Movie Theaters, and now Live TV. Crazy!!
  16. Where about's will you be staying?
  17. When will this senseless violence stop. My condolences to the families of the fallen victims.
  18. Simplest way to live bait. Catch baby bluegill with bread or dough balls and you have bass favorite prey.
  19. This is the exact same reason I got rid of my Revo STX. Reel was perfectly fine, but that dang geary noise was driving me nuts.
  20. Very true this will happen and if there is a signal and the technology is available it can help determine if its a brief passing storm or the kind of storm that you have to call it day and leave.
  21. GoRavens here you go: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/how-to-walk-a-frog.html Doesn't get any easier than this. All you have to do is practice. The frog you own is one of the easiest frogs to walk. Enjoy the vid.
  22. I enjoy Mikey's videos. I really enjoy the sound tracks he has them embedded with. Lol... Not only does he show how to punch, he also shows you the tackle he using and why.
